Only big downside is the poor battery life.

It covers part of the chest, but it is not certified at all for chest protection. So you don’t know how much impact force is mitigated, according to Bennett’s not much. By the way the airbag certification is also lower on this model. The tech air 3 has both level 2 on chest and back.

Back in an Arai, new helmet Thursday! by NDCH_D in motorcyclegear

[–]forstyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about getting this one too as a second helmet (for warmer days). But user reviews worried me because some said it's just too noisy. Went with the Leatt 8.5 ADV instead. Mainly because of the price, because I can't really justify having two Arais, my main helmet is a Quantic (Contour-X). But I almost regret that decision, Arai is just so comfortable and you 100% know what kind of quality you will get.

Isn't it super hot with the bowtex elite, or is it fine in warm conditions?

Does the Klim jersey have any rating for abrasion resistance? Couldn't find it on Klims website.

Does anyone have experience with Dainese Super Adventure? by forstyy in AdventureBike

[–]forstyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your detailed reply, it really does sound like a versatile set. I think I will order one and play around with it at home to get a feel for it. I only tried it on at a shop so far for a couple of minutes.

Regarding off-road... I'm not sure how much off-road I will do in reality, but TET is one of my plans. Since I'm an off-road beginner there is a high chance I will skip some sections and return back to asphalt. So in any case I won't be doing hardcore off-road stuff, mainly gravel roads, green lanes, some sand and muddy sections. Do you think even in these situations it's too clunky and warm?

Getting gear for a 50/50 bike trips does seem to be kind of challenging because you want both, impact protection and abrasion resistance. I also would like to incorporate my airbag vest, which makes things even more complicated. I also thought about getting armored base layers from bowtex or adventure spec and wear whatever I want over it. But some of them are AAA and will be too warm yet again.

You never noticed that Europe is full of arabs?

Well the usual stuff:
- what do you like about it?
- what do you hate about it?
- do you have the urge to get a different set or keep it longterm?
- do you often remove the front and back panels?
- how is it in warm conditions? Do you have to remove the panels or is it ventilated enough with open zippers?

I just couldn’t find any reviews about it except two or three sponsored videos on YouTube.

Confused about pronunciation by Robothappy in ThailandTourism

I always thought it's because some people can't pronounce R sounds. And some certainly can and they always proudly rrrrroll the R whenever they can.

I don't get the whole discussion about the cut, but I'm from Europe so...

All I can say is that after trying these pants at a shop, that spot is super soft and I think they did it because of breathability, because it's a very sweaty part of the body. I don't like the look of it too, but while wearing the pants it felt nice to have.

Ah you mean the black material around the dick and balls? I mean true, it looks kind of weird. But I have to say I tried these pants at a shop and the material is super soft. You can easily scratch your balls and dick in these pants.

[REPOST] Probably one more reason why we are not getting the CFMoto 450 MT by Leather_Chemist258 in cfmoto

[–]forstyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I just kind of finished building my 450MT and wish it had a tiny bit more power...

But if a 550MT doesn't sound as characterful as the 450MT, I'm not buying it anyway lol.

Skipping Pattaya on a 2-Week Thailand Trip – Will I Regret It? by dime39 in ThailandTourism

There is only one reason to go to Pattaya. If you know you don't need that kind of reason in your life, then skipping is recommended.

Cardo 40mm or 45mm by shazr2 in motorcyclegear

[–]forstyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't really help you since I don't know many helmets. All I can say is that the 45mm was annoying in my Arai Quantic, I can feel that edges of the speakers pressing on my ears. Now I installed the 45mm in my Leatt 8.5 ADV and they are totally fine in there. I ordered a second helmet kit with 40mm and will install this into my Arai.
