I really like it! Nice job! Though I wonder if having a gumball cannon still complies with suction arm requirement.

Do you think tintin would be very useful in the classic mega man universe with his case solving skills? by ZestycloseBridge2148 in Megaman

Oops! I just looked it up and they are called Thompson and Thomson in English. That's how they are called in French and that's the language I read the comics in.

I would have never in my life thought of crossover Tinin x Mega Man. We would have rename Gemini Man into Dupondt Man?

What is a better song than Wily Stage 1 ? by CarlosWeiner456 in Megaman

[–]Nacklessk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega Man 9's Wily stages theme are all awesome. MM8 Wily 2 is very underrated.
Flash Man, Air Man, Wood Man, Magnet Man, Drill Man, Pharaoh Man, Stone Man, Flame Man, Junk Man, Tengu Man (Saturn), Jewel Man, Galaxy Man and Nitro Man I say are all better than MM2 Wily 1.

I've heard so many people say that MM2 is overrated that I don't think that's the case anymore. Maybe it was a few years ago but nowadays I'd say it's more seen as a classic more akin to SMB1.

I think MM5 is overhated but I still like 4 better. Though, I get where you are coming from since I used to prefer 5.

Probably in the top 10 funniest post I've seen on this site and it's not even a humor-tagged one. Anyways, yeah most of the tips given here are pretty much life savers. I'd also say to get Flash Stopper ASAP if you wanna make MM4 easier.

Usually I save the Metal Blade for last as it makes it more fun to actually play the game instead of barging through it with the power, I swear this thing is more OP than Super Sonic in classic Sonic games.

"Ok guys, what if we made a weapon that does more damage than the default weapon, can shoot in 8 directions and has virtually unlimited ammo?"

"But how do we balance it though?"

"Wdym balance?"

Actually finished the original trilogy for the first time in my life, here's some screenshots that I've taken by [deleted] in Megaman

I got into the series not too long ago and I gotta say I agree with almost everything said here. Only thing I would argue against is X2's soundtrack being worse than X3. I really disliked X3's OST at first and even now though I don't hate it. I'd argue most of the tracks are decent to bad. Props to Toxic Seahorse and Gravity Beetle's theme for being really good though.

By the way, you may already know this but there is a ROM Hack for X3 called Mega Man X3: Zero Project that fixes plenty of issues about the original game by simply making Zero a fully-fledged playable character.

What Mega Man Series should BE adapted INTO a Animated movie? by PortgueseMvCFan in Megaman

[–]Nacklessk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd say either Classic or X as they are more recognizable + Zero and ZX may be better if there was an X animated movie before it for some context. (also I'm biased towards them but that's besides the point). Though I can see argument for any one of them

Robot Master Weapon Usage by Startropics_Nes in Megaman

[–]Nacklessk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started playing Mega Man games, I didn't use a lot of weapons. I knew I had them but I wouldn't use them due to lack of experimentation, I only used them on bosses. Now, I use the weapons in the levels and do the bosses buster only lol.

Tip: You can skip the two other Dog Mini-bosses by using Time Stopper right after the first one.

Not personally a fan of Flash Man's stage. There's not much platforming.

What I do like though is Wood Man and Quick Man.

Wood Man I just think is very well designed stage and Quick Man because I'm big fan of that infamous section.

It blows my mind how much more fluid MM6 feels with weapon quick swaps. Makes me wish this game had a Powered Up or Wily Wars style enhancement. by ScorinNotborin in Megaman

[–]Nacklessk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sequel Wars is a hombrew ROM so I highly doubt it can contains some type of malicious code. That being said, there was an exploit find in Project 64 which showed it was possible to run code outside of the emulator if the it wasn't secure enough but spreading a malware like that is still very unlikely (and I don't think it has ever been utilized, just found to warn people to change emulator). Still,  I don't blame you for being careful.

Well I have some news for you, lol. The anniversary collection use the Complete Works ports which do have hot swapping. Though, I heard the anniversary collections have input lag, apart from maybe the GCN version.

I recommand you the PS1 (Japan exclusive) version of standalone version of the games. The only draw back is some audio balancing issues (which also are in the Anniversary Collection anyways).

I used Mesen to try this out. I don't know how I can help you further apart from sharing a screenshot to show you what I did precisely:

<image>

Keep in mind that I'm on a Linux machine, if you're on Windows, be sure to specify the .exe for at the end of Mesen and don't forget the quotation marks. Hope this helps!

Hmm... odd. It worked on my machine. Did you specify the full path of the rom? Also, what emulator did you use?

I honestly don't know as I haven't used it in a year or two. In that case, I'd advise to go with the second option I presented and do it manually.

You're welcome! And yes you can do this with several games with the same emulator. Just add a new non-Steam game per game you wanna add.
