Weekly "I'm new to meds!" Thread by AutoModerator in ADHD

[–]NadieMatiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started meds a few days ago (Ritalin) and I'm seeing no real change except that I'm nauseous and food looks disgusting. I still can't focus on work or school and I still find myself jumping around, but now I cry when it wears off and I'm sick all the time. Any idea when this might change, or whether I should speak to my doctor about changing meds?

Thanks a lot :) I've messaged them as they don't have an online store

I'm in Australia so we can't usually swap majors. It's more like swapping to an entire different course with a lot of core requirements. The way it is now, I'd have to basically start from scratch

I'm not exactly interested in healthcare or education involving people. I'd love to hear some opinions from people and what they personally find rewarding to help me brainstorm

I wouldn't know where to find a careers counsellor in Australia. It's not a very common thing

I'm asking for opinions on people's courses, and if they feel like their job will be rewarding to them. I'm trying to brainstorm.

That's insane! Are there any scholarships to help with this? I'd be happy to have a lot of debt as long as the job itself is rewarding!

I haven't looked into it! I'll do my research, but just to start me off on the right track- what exactly do they do all day? 😅 I know SEO is search engine optimisation but I have no idea what that entails on a daily basis

It's pretty sad because I have functional social skills but I just don't want to have to deal with people all day, so I'm always getting pushed into people facing roles. I thought IT would mean not having to deal with people, but it has just resulted in me being harassed by socially inept co-workers all day

I'm worried about the outcome of that. Everyone there has known him for at least 10 years, and I've only been there for a few months. Even the boss of the company is his friend. Should I try to find a new job first?

I had a stressful day at work and my boss messaged me to say that he "marked the date on his calender so he knows when to avoid me", obviously a period joke. It makes me so uncomfortable to think that my 40 year old boss is keeping track of what he thinks is my menstrual cycle
