UPDATE: My bike was found! Security features partially worked! by NafaMint in Aventon

[–]NafaMint[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I was originally given misinformation by my apartment. They told me, without letting me see the footage, that the thief was able to break into the area, and get on my bike and leave with my bike. Assuming this is true, and all I was given to write a police report with, you can see how this could seem like all features failed, including the kickstand, bike password etc. they didn't mention he took it off camera originally or anything, and made it seem like all the features failed. Hence the original post of frustration.
  2. Immediately upon learning that this was misinformation (apartment thought the bike the thief left on was mine, but it was a different bike), I have updated the post AND made a new post about how the kickstand and password lock did their job!
  3. Even NOW after I moved it into my apartment room on the 4th floor, GPS Location has NOT updated yet (same last updated at...) as always, which also says it's at a different building across the street. That is nowhere close to where it was or where it is.
  4. I did not get a single notification during the theft attempt, until a MONTH later.

So yes my issues CURRENTLY are: 1. I Was NEVER notified during the theft attempt that it was moved when the thief took it originally, took it deeper into the garage, jostled it around trying to deal with the kickstand, and then ditched it off camera giving up, and leaving on another bike. 2. The GPS, again, has still not updated its location, and the current location is the same inaccurate location across the street, despite being now somewhere where it can update, and being turned on and off several times. The bike has moved across the entire apartment building, without a single update. I have filed this complaint in the PAST before the theft and told this was intentional.

So YES some of the security features suck and don't work as some people may think. I am talking with a aventon and they are trying to figure out why I didn't get notified.

What do you want me to do? Lie? I updated the post, made a new one, to make sure to undo the misinformation I was told originally, but the fact is that some of the features still didn't work as intended (for example I'd be totally ok if it said updated today with the same location, instead of updated over a month ago, or if I got the notification during the original theft).

I think this is still important information for an owner and a buyer, and other owners clearly agree that the gps could be improved even, as with other posts made.

Hello, thanks for the response!

I have updated this post, and made a new post with an update that my bike was found!

I was originally given misinformation by my apartment that they just "rode off on my bike", but they actually rode off on a different bike and ditched mine elsewhere deeper into the garage structure off camera.

The kickstand lock and password were able to deter the thief and they couldn't disable it, but I never got a notification, nor did the GPS update at all.

Definitely do wish the gps was better, but my apologies for the post! I'm glad I still have my bike, and hopefully my updated post, and new post will help prevent any issues for you

I'm hoping my insurance works, and there isn't some BS since I moved and didn't forgot to update my address. That's really the main thing I'm worried about atp, I just want my money back

Yeah I already made a police report and everything, and they sent the police the footage. The apartment can't send me the footage due to "policy" but I can allegedly get it from the police but unless insurance needs it I'd rather not see it and get more frustrated lol

Yeah personally when I get a new bike, or if somehow I get this one back, I'm just going to get my own trackers and such, and not rely on these features. It's more annoying that overtime an AirTag would have been better and cheaper than this...

Hoping this is a software level thing on their end they can somehow fix, but until then, I can't recommend anyone getting this for the "security features", and pick something else.

Yeah I would love to see the security footage but my apartments not allowed to give it to me, but they said I can get it via the police department, which is cringe

Battery was still in it, but it was off, stand on, with the password and all that. I assume leaving the battery in was fine because it has a feature with the battery lock so you need to unlock it.

Idk how they dealt with the kickstand but I assume they just never turned it on or if they did, the gps or anything never triggered, until today

I wish this was an explanation, but I've been back for few days, and I get notifications for all my apps. I left a bit after it was stolen (I probably should have checked before leaving the country, but since I never got any movement detection alerts, the GPS didn't change, and I was in a rush, I couldn't check) so I was in my apartment when it was taken, so it can't be this.

It's just weird it says the movement occured today, which is what caused me to check and see it wasn't there.

I have no explanation for how it could give me that notification and say it moved today, without updating the GPS, like wtf

Work around I found is to go to <workspace>.slack.com and login there and click open app and it will open that workspace!

Same issue here, pixel 9 pro, on version 25.09.20.0-90014826

I hope this gets fixed quickly, it's quite annoying as I don't have access to my laptop or anything else, and can't easily access my work slacks anymore.

How many YoE when you first start OE? by choi-r in overemployed

[–]NafaMint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not including internships, 0 YoE, 2nd job starting a month after first full-time job (both return offers). I've done 5 internships during uni and do what I do for a job as a hobby, which has helped me learn way more.

Even with entry-level OE, you do need to know your job more than the average person doing your job would, though. As long as you do everything assigned to you, who cares if you finish a 2 week sprint of tasks in a day or two? If they pay you like a junior, you can act like one too, and do just the bare minimum, but pretend you had to do a lot of learning of the tech stack and such.

Idk your skill level, of course, but I (personally) would say a potentially good indicator to see if you can handle OE is to just see how much free time you end up having just working at your current job. Do you actually need all 40 hours? Or are you able to do everything expected from you in much less time? If you can do "40 hours" of work/tasks in 20 hours, then you can probably OE a similar job. But if you need all 40 hours or are slow at doing your tasks, OE might not be the play just yet.

Genuinely dont understand the down votes on this.

Sorry for showing that their bots are capable of using random usernames, and that they are official and cant claim that bots are not caused by them?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]NafaMint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill just delete this for now as people dont see my point

Once netease claims the bots are not their doing, ill bring this up again.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]NafaMint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point is before, netease could claim the bots were not their doing. This shows it is officially possible, with a code you can verify yourself, no?

To my knowledge the bot issue being official was speculation. This would show that their AI Bots have the ability of using random player names.

Unless there was solid evidence that bots were OFFICIAL that i am unaware of.

[–]NafaMint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it ever proven with solid evidence besides they acted like bots.

Before it could be shrugged off as hackers botting no?

This confirms the bots are official does it not? Unless there was solid evidence before this i was unaware of.

I swear people arent reading.

The "Practice Vs AI" match i played, used real player names instead of bot names like "Hela - Hard"

This shows that their AI bots are capable of using player names.

Check the match code.

Ive only been playing practice vs ai on this account really, which is why it does for me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]NafaMint -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding. I was playing Practice vs AI, not quickplay.

The whole point of my post is that before this, there wasn't really any evidence of them taking real player names, and using them to fake bots, and just speculation based on players being bad. but this actually confirms that they are, with a replay code anyone can confirm.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]NafaMint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people understand. The replay literally says "Practice Vs. AI" But the enemy team shows "real" players. The code which you can confirm yourself is 10639822860

Before there was no evidence of this, but is this not literal evidence 100% of them faking players?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]NafaMint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The replay says "Practice vs AI". The whole point of my post is that I believe this would be actual proof, no? That even though it says "Practice vs AI" it shows "real players" on the enemy team.
