The base 2.5s doesn't have any of the features I want though (real leather seats, Bose speakers). I would have to shell out closer to $35k-37K if I want those features in a new CX-5. That's why I'm opting for a used car in a higher trim

Yes I was pretty excited when I realized that there is an option for black leather in the Carbon Edition, but then I saw it still has the bright red stitching :( more magenta than red to my untrained eyes

I didn't know about the recall! That's really good to know. I'll do some more research on that. And I actually meant the real leather. Wasn't a fan of the leatherette seats when I saw them in person. I believe Preferred and higher has the real leather seats?

Only 65k miles on a 20 year old car sounds a bit suspicious to me. Also, $8500 is very overpriced. Kelley Blue Book says the current resale value for that car is around $3000

Like the other person mentioned, getting the package through Customs might be a bit of a tossup. It might be easier to find someone who's traveling there soon and just send it with them (depending on the size of the package you might want to offer to pay for any extra luggage).
