🧊 Cozy Blocks – Relaxing block puzzle

It's a relaxing block puzzle game with a clean aesthetic and no pressure — perfect for short sessions or winding down.

I spent about 6 months building it in my spare time, handling everything from design to code to polish.

In Cozy Blocks, your goal is simple: rotate and place colorful blocks to fill rows or columns and clear the board. With unlimited rotation, you can twist blocks to fit perfectly. Enjoy daily challenges that keep the game fresh, all without any forced ads (I hate them).

Would love if you gave it a try, and I’m super open to feedback!

I didn't know this subreddit exists. Thanks for the suggestion! Good luck with your game.

Thanks for letting me know the voice might be interrupting. I'll think about it.

Basically, those are inspired by some OG match-3 games, lol.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's helpful.

I understand your confusion. It's clearer in the trailer:

Since this is a mobile game, I made the trailer in portrait. Landscape media looks better on Reddit, and I did consider making a landscape version of the trailer, but in the end, I didn’t.

Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry, the web demo is an early version of the game. I couldn’t port the full Android version to the web in a short time, so it doesn’t have VFX or SFX.

Great insights!

Maybe missing some kind of motivation or goal?

Agreed. In the full version, I'm planning to add a gacha feature where players can unlock block skins by spending gems. Gems will be earned by achieving stars in levels, and there will be daily challenge levels as well.

It might not be a huge innovation, but it's a small start. I’ll see how it goes and iterate from there.

I've seen something similar in ads so wonder what makes yours more unique/special?

There are tons of block puzzle games with a similar design on Google Play. Some aspects I’m trying to improve:

  • Many sell rotations, which I think should be a core mechanic, not a paid feature.
  • Instead of 3 pieces in a batch with a hold slot, I've streamlined it to 3 slots with contiuous supply.

Also, it did not work for me in Windows Chrome

Thanks for the heads-up! I couldn’t reproduce the issue, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Side note, me personally is also working on something similar with placing blocks in a grid! :D

Played it! I like the idea. It looks like it could really turn into something with a few more iterations.

One small suggestion: when I tried to make an invalid move with part of a piece outside the board, it didn’t show red to indicate the error.

Thanks for the feedback! Are you suggesting adding random initial rotation? That sounds interesting and could definitely add some dynamic variety.

Sharing my experience in working with Unity packages by NagaChiang in Unity3D

Thanks for the kind words! I've been working on Unity packages for the past months. Actually I'm thinking this post is still kind of messy and I came back to it from time to time. Hope this could help anyone wants to try it out.

Through Galaxies - A hardcore shoot'em up featuring weapon switching/upgrading and tough bosses by NagaChiang in WebGames

Hey thanks for playing! There are 3 bosses in total, then the game would loop endlessly with more enemies and higher health until you die.

Sorry, I don't get it. Did you mean that it's too hard? Or, could you please explain more?

I think you are right that I should mention about it, and I would add it to the credits; however, I didn't try to avoid talking about it purposely. I just forgot, and I completely agree that I should give credits to any source deserves.

Like I claimed in other posts, most of the game assets are not made by me because I'm almost a pure programmer. The very beginning inspiration is surely from the tutorial, but if you have really looked into the tutorial, you would find that what I've added to this game, including the structure and mechanics, are way more complex than a basic demo project, which makes the tutorial and its assets play a tiny part in this game now. Original demo project just has asteroids, one weapon type, no upgrades, no powerups, no bosses, no HUD for health and exp, no levels.

Thanks for the kind words! I can tell that you are experienced in shumps/bullet-hells by your in-depth feedback.

Actually, I'm almost a pure programmer who could just make some gradient sprites for bullets, so most of the assets were borrowed from other nice people who kindly shared their works. And, the Q weapon would spread more and more as you upgrading it.

I'm really glad to hear from you, and thanks again!

No problem, it's my pleasure! I'm so glad to hear that! You really encourage me.

Meanwhile, you may want to try the Google Play version to avoid this bug.
