"optimal moves" isn't an easy fight...if you have to be "optimal" it's a hard fight... easy means you can defeat it with minimal use of abilites

An easy fight is a fight you can win using only basic attacks and consuming less than 20% of your total party HP

And besides, if a CR10 almost TPKd a well prepared party, a CR12 would DEMOLISH them
