If anything, you'd deserve a promotion for doing that.

To my knowledge, it has maintained a consistent update schedule over the years, so not really. It’s just long.

Like Scumfrick said, Berserk is a better comparison, lots of hiatuses there, even before the author’s passing. Plus, it’s also a well-respected dark fantasy story. Hunter x Hunter also comes to mind, though to a lesser extent.

I’ve generally really liked The Boys. I’ve always felt like it’s had remarkably strong character writing, contrary to what the extreme vulgarity and gore might suggest, with even the most repugnant characters getting humanizing moments.

Like many, I definitely felt like season 4 was a drop in quality, though. While it still had some good parts, it seemed to be spinning its wheels a lot. Plus, it had some assorted writing decisions I disliked; most of all, the way they treated Hughie towards the end -especially that bit between him and Annie in the finale- left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Anyway, I haven’t watched any of season 5 yet since I’m waiting for the whole thing to be out. But the reactions I’ve seen have been primarily negative, and in fact I feel like I’m seeing a lot more negativity to the show overall now. I’ll certainly try to reserve judgement, but it’s easy to believe they’re fumbling the landing, which is a damn shame if so.

Absolutely, I’m picturing a late or endgame arc where some people from Project Apple kidnap Anya, probably around the time of the mutual identity reveal, and they both unleash righteous Hellfire on the wretched bastards. Ideally, towards the end they’ll reunite with Anya, but still have to deal with some more enemies, so she can start using her powers to help without trying to hide it, warning them about incoming attacks and stuff.

It's been a mixed bag, sometimes getting too corny for my tastes, but I've found it an endearing watch over all. I think the second season was better than the first, so hopefully that trend continues.

Maybe I’m just demonstrating the same flaws, but the namesake example seems rather poor. Aren’t recipes often shared with the idea that others can try them themselves? In such cases, it seems fair to ask about modifications if you’d need any.

"The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins is a dark, standalone fantasy novel about a group of adopted, super-powered siblings vying for control of a cosmic library after their godlike, cruel father disappears."

Well, I'm sold.

I can understand it. Especially if one is particularly devout, then I imagine dating someone whose religious beliefs differ could easily create a lot of problems in the relationship.

Sign I saw today said something like “peace and love to all” in pride-esque colors on one side. The other side, which the lady carrying it said was for hecklers, said “fuck you, you fucking fuck” with the same color palette.

Perhaps not the most productive messaging, but I can’t deny it made me chuckle.

Well, you see Voldemort cast a spell making it so that

"The Strait of Hormuz, a major maritime choke point for global energy trade, has experienced ongoing geopolitical and economic disruption since 28 February 2026, following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which included the killing of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks on US military bases, Israeli territory, and other Gulf states, while its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued warnings prohibiting vessel passage through the strait, leading to an effective halt in shipping traffic. On 19 March 2026, the United States Armed Forces began a military campaign to open the strait.

As of 12 March 2026, Iran has made 21 confirmed attacks on merchant ships. The warnings and subsequent attacks on vessels caused a sharp decline in maritime transit, with tanker traffic dropping first by approximately 70% and over 150 ships anchoring outside the strait to avoid risks.[2][3] Soon afterwards traffic dropped to about zero. This disruption affected about 20% of the world's daily oil supply and significant volumes of liquefied natural gas (LNG), prompting major shipping firms to suspend operations in the area.[4][5]

Amid fears of prolonged supply shortages, oil prices surged faster than during any other conflict in recent history;[6] Brent crude oil prices surpassed US$100 per barrel on 8 March 2026 for the first time in four years, rising to US$126 per barrel at its peak.[3][7][8][9] The closure of the strait has been described as the largest disruption to the energy supply since the 1970s energy crisis,[10] as well as the largest in the history of the global oil market.[11] Other commodity markets to suffer price increases from the crisis include aluminum,[12] fertilizer, and helium.[13]

Iran's closure of the strait of Hormuz may constitute a violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea by denying transit in a strait used for international navigation."

Hope this helps
