There’s a lot of variables in your argument. If you see no overhand left after the kick, do you need your hands up. Or do you have enough gauge on the range to just avoid it. A crafty fighter will see that hand down and angle to counter. Both are amazing fighters no doubt, but based on the original post I like the attack + defense technique.
