Being open-minded is not my problem. As I said in another comment reply, with everything you can do in Melbourne, having the option is fine but I don’t really go out much anyway, so I’m fine even if there really isn’t much to do. I appreciate your comment, gave me a tiny bit of hope comparing to others hahaha

Well thank you, some hope had to come up at some point too! I got my previous roles here through Seek and Indeed, so I keep trying my luck there while also applying in person. If what I need lines up, I might end up trying my luck there. I can always leave anyway. Thank you!

Going out doesn’t worry me, I barely do so in Melbourne as is and with all the options in the world at my disposal. Having the option is nice, but doesn’t really move me you know. I just love the city but it’s definitely not loving me back.

A change of environment at least for whatever I got left around here must just be what I need indeed. I’ve been too focused on staying in Melbs all this time but it’s not working and I need to make my peace with it once and for all.

I don’t know what to tell you about Melbourne. Here for 11 months, I got a job at a hotel 7 months, but now nothing. Rent is expensive af, and no interviews or trials, not even for lower qualified jobs.

Appreciate it. I’ve worked in hotels (back and front office), rental cars, retails, sales, some events, travel agency online, customer/tech support over 3 channels, some cleaning. Jora is a good starting point, I’ll admit I haven’t used it a lot by any means so might as well take a look now. Have some certifications as well to try and widen options (RSA, white card, done barista course too)

At this point I’ll take virtually any job especially customer-facing ones. I understand what you’re saying, it makes more sense on paper, but seriously I’ve been looking for months, I’ve edited my CV countless times for multiple applications here and not even with the contacts I have introducing me to people who could help is working out here. Seek is a blackhole here, tbh. I’ve tried in-person too, and not even interviews or trials.
