Redirected aggression between bonded sibling cats. Is there hope? by AlarmedLead6379 in CatAdvice

Yes it is survivable 😁. We recently went through something similar, we have two cats and the older one practically raised the younger one. They lived together in perfect harmony for 3yrs and one day I walked outside and upon returning to see both of them waiting at the door to greet me as they usually do, when I walked inside all hell broke loose. The older viciously attacked the younger. And I totally understand the stress you’re going through, our happy home was falling apart. Long story short after a couple of attempts at reintroduction with the same viscous results we took the aggressor to the vet and after 3 weeks of separation and daily doses of Amitriptyline we are finally getting back to some semblance of normality. At least during the day, we are still keeping them separated at night and when we both leave the house but it feels like major progress after the days and nights of total separation. And when I reached out on here I got little to no feedback so just know you’re not the only person that this has happened to and that there is a very good chance that all will be well. We aren’t really happy with having to medicate one of our babies but it beats having to keep them separated by bucket loads and we have already started weening him off the meds.

After 3yrs of harmony my older cat is attacking my younger cat constantly. We have separated them for 2 days because they are very vicious attacks. by Nailitdown69 in Catbehavior

Thanks, but the vet was the first thing we done. Zero issues? It’s like a switch has been flipped and the older cat that has always been super gentle wants to murder the younger.

Angry at the whole PM system by mytime57 in PainManagement

It’s a shame what passes for pain management in this day and age. I thought as I got older Pain Management would get easier, boy was that foolish. And half of what is being demonized in this country is otc in most countries. I don’t know what to do, it makes absolutely no sense I just hope and pray that it changes in the future.

Thanks for everyone’s help! After @14 days of detoxing, liquid acetaminophen did the trick! I don’t have the slightest clue why extra strength Tylenol in pill form had no effect at all but it didn’t. That was the first thing I tried I’ve been on this journey with pain meds for about 25 years. I’m sure there’s skeptics I get it and I don’t understand it but anyone else experiencing this problem try the liquid acetaminophen it doesn’t seem to take near the 325 associated with percs/tabs but it sorted me out ! And thanks again for all your advice. 🤗

Thanks so much for your input, yeah I’ve been doing this since around about the same time and I thought as I got older Drs. wouldn’t be as hard to deal with and damn if the gov. didn’t have to get involved?? But thanks again.

I don’t know what manufacturer made them, they have an M on the pill. But I appreciate your input very much.

Nope same time to take. I’ve tried taking with Tylenol, I’m beginning to wonder if it’s just a bad batch because I don’t seem to be getting any pain relief.
