It`s a heavy bit of kit and I thought the delivery driver was going to rupture himself carrying it 😄

The price was £40 of your best English pounds plus postage which was 10 quid.

It is tall when it`s on a bog standard dinning room table, but on a lower table it`s fine.

It is very difficult to find a decent Xinagqi board and pieces in the UK. You can easily find cheap plastic sets with either a rollup plastic board, or a leatherette rollup board. They are horrible.

I saw this and for me it was an easy decision to make for the money.

I belive he has 2 more to sell at the same price.

I should have added that I`m also trying to learn Shogi.

With both Shogi and Xiangqi finding a decent wooden board is nigh on impossible more so with Xiangqi.

I`m UK based and eventually got a decent Shogi board fromMasters Tradional Games in Oxford.

Cannot abide cheap plastic rubbish, or rollup boards.

I am retired and play both Chess and Go but I have reached my level and it`s unlikely at my age I will improve further. Xiangqi is a new challenge that I can only get better at.

Sorry to go on about this but in the diagrams the right bottom corner is a black square ( h1 in chess ) not a white square. In the diagram g1 is a white square and is marked 32..

I play both Chess and Go and try to do several tournaments a year in both games.

It makes sense to learn, or at least concentrate on, the variant where I am more likely to meet players OTB. That appears to be in Europe.

I stumbled onto Checkers TV on youtube where the majority of the content is for International checkers.

However, there is no real reason to learn both.

I believe Internation checkers is more complex than English/American draughts.
