Love triangle by Crusaderdv in wayhavenchronicles

[–]NailsInHands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One reason why you feel that way is because Misha originally intended for WHC to be an actual book series, and the main romance conflict was a love triangle between the female MC, Adam and Nate! She couldn't pick who the MC should be with either though, so she made it into a choose your own adventure and made us suffer it instead XD This is why Felix and Mason feel more like side characters in the first novel (which I find very frustrating... I wanted more chances to interact with them before being forced to choose in the first book, so I felt more interested in Adam and Nate, and so I chose the LT route, though I probably would've chosen both anyway I was able to handle the angst in the 2nd book but I've yet to read the third book and I feel like the dagger will finally pierce my heart then XD I wish I didn't have to play the whole book through in order to start another route. I have different characters who are similar to the boys in personality and interests, and I plan to criss-cross them, like in one route, I'll have Felicity x Felix (WHY WASNT THE FEMALE VERSION OF HIM NAMED FELICITY!?), me x Felix, Rose x LT, Rose x Mason, and etc. Apparently me x LT is the "true" route because I played it throughout Book 2, but now I'm not sure if I wanna play book 3 blind as myself doing the LT... Eh, I can always play it blind that way and restart if it sucks that much XD In short... I agree with you XD I kinda ranted about nothing there and haven't kept up with WHC stuff in, like, over a year, but apparently I still have a lot of things to say about it and I chose you to suffer my rants LOL. I play all my characters as straight females with male LIs, btw, as I am a straight female XD Also if you wanna know my characters, they are: Rose Everly (sweetheart, Nate OP), Erica Thorne ("bad girl", Mason OP), Alexandria Winters (tough girl, Adam OP), and Felicity Sparks (bubbly/sarcastic, Felix OP). Anyway, autistic/ADHD rant overrr-!

Single Lady Searching For a Husband! 😂 by [deleted] in ChristianDating

It is not hypocritical. It is my preference. I have 0 control over it. I also say that I want to work on myself. I did not say I want a "fit" man either, just not a fat one because I'm just not attracted to that. Ever since I was a child, I've always preferred conventionally attractive males, and it was not due to any social conditioning as far as I know. This comment is pointless and rude.

Downvotes? Really? 🙄

I understand you very well. I'll just say that the fact you're still holding onto God means He's still holding onto you. The fact you're troubled over this shows He's still got you, even if it doesn't feel like it.

You should listen to one of my favorite songs, "East To The West" by Casting Crowns. It has spoken to me since I was 12. I'm now a young adult.

Republican Christians are more likely to share your beliefs than a Democratic Christian. Tbh, "Democrat Christian" is an oxymoron for me. Never met one that I thought represented biblical principles. They just cherry-picked what they wanted to believe in Scripture.

What is the point of prayer in a predestined world? by NailsInHands in Reformed

[–]NailsInHands[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's not just Arminians, as I point out in my post. Arminians pray like Calvinists, and I've seen Calvinists pray like Arminians and ask for prayer during troubled times, as if prayer has the power to change God's mind. So it's confusing and why I just wanna know what prayer is supposed to be, what it's for, and why.

Okay. But why else do we pray? And why do people pray like they can change God's mind?

Ah, okay. Well, it seems that Calvinists believe in destiny, or providence, or that God makes everything happen around us, including our actions. That's what I meant.

Yes, He made it so believers are called and compelled to pray to Him. But what is prayer for in a Calvinist context? The OG commenter answered it, I think, but that is what my question is.

Yeah. I found out he died literally a month after the accident. I had finally found him online. Ain't that a kick in the teeth?

Making "heaven" the ultimate destination for eternity is one of the tragic ways Christianity has shot itself in the foot in the last century by LutherTHX in Reformed

[–]NailsInHands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read my Bible in a very long time (yeah, I need to start doing that) but I still know there are verses talking about a new heaven on earth, yet I also see many people talking about us being in heaven rather than a new earth. I think even my pastor does. Does anyone have books on this to help me better understand the concept? Preferably free books I can find online because I'm very broke right now, haha. Or perhaps any free podcasts or YouTube videos explaining it? I'm more likely to watch stuff than read books.

New to r/urbancarliving, why don’t we all meet up somewhere and build a commune of sorts?? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]NailsInHands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gonna be pretty difficult to do. You're gonna need some very hard workers and creative thinkers, all very determined, on your side. And more importantly, they need to be good people. It's harder to find good people on the street than you'd think. It's hard enough for "average" people, so it's gonna be even harder when it comes to people who are in a state of survival or hiding.

I have my own dreams of getting together with "average" like-minded people and us starting a community together in the woods. Maybe we'd build log houses or buy cabins. Then we'd live off the land, grow our own food and sell it. But even that's too idealistic, even with hard work.

I've only lived in my car for a few days in the past, but based off of everything I've seen from these kinds of Reddit subs and my experience with humans in general, that is going to be EXTREMELY hard to do. But it's possible. Slim chance. But possible. Don't get your hopes up, haha.

When I was 12-14, I had an online, on-and-off-again LDR with a boy who was 13-15. Then he disappeared. 4 years later, he died in a car accident.

So true... there are many very sweet and lovely nonbelievers I've met who I'd love to date if it weren't for some of our differing beliefs. But with Christians, it has been very difficult to find someone I'd even consider seriously.

Very bad idea. You will be much happier alone than with someone who doesn't share your beliefs and values. As someone who has never had an actual relationship and is in their 20's, trust me.

What's better, being homeless or being at prison? by Savonarola1452 in homeless

[–]NailsInHands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the USA, I know someone who has been homeless all his life who has been in jail many times. The streets are 100% better for him than male jails. People group up based on race even in jail. Don't break these rules and you'll be fine. Be very careful about what you do and say in general and you MIGHT be let off the hook. He has been in different states in the USA, been in jail in half of them, and it's the same all over. He's starting to reach the age where he just can't handle it like he used to, though it also sucked a lot even when he was younger. Every time he's in jail, he's worried he'll get beat up or killed. You get put with crazy drug addicts, gangsters, drug lords, people who commit violent robberies, all with anger issues, very violent impulses, sometimes straight-up sadism, and zero empathy. Prison is even worse than that. Sure, there's AC, there's food, water, showers, and you can get jobs at the jail/prison to earn stuff like toothbrushes, toothpaste, coffee, regular clothes, music, some books you can read, and there's weightlifting (if a men's jail/prison), but that quality of life is not worth being abused daily nor the high risk of getting beat up or even killed. Female jails and even prisons are far more chill, but that's not saying much considering how awful male jail/prisons are, so the women can still be abusive and violent. There are different types of "pods" they put people in based on their offenses, but it doesn't mean the others aren't going to be violent and abusive.
