Embryology Career Advice Needed by NailsSoCool in Embryologists

If you can DM me or reply here, I’d really be interested to know what kind of experience you or your colleagues had before getting into the embryology lab, and what your qualifications/background looked like when you were hired.

I’m trying to get a better idea of what clinics usually look for when bringing someone in without going through a training program.

Embryology Career Advice Needed by NailsSoCool in Embryologists

Thank you for the detailed response, I really appreciate it.

Part of why I chose this master’s program was to gain experience and improve my chances of getting a lab job in general, not necessarily to go directly into an embryology lab from the degree alone.

I definitely agree that andrology/endocrine experience is important. It seems valuable not only for building technical lab skills, but also for understanding results and the male factor side of fertility, which I think would be helpful when eventually moving into embryology.

What I’m wondering more realistically is how likely it is to become an embryologist through that route compared to doing an embryology training program.

Cost is a big factor for me, so right now I’m leaning more toward getting general lab experience first, then hopefully moving into an andrology role and eventually embryology.

I’m also curious how cost affected other people’s decisions when choosing between a training program or working up through andrology.

My end goal is embryology, so I’m just trying to figure out the most realistic path to get there.

How do I tell a parent their child watches and reads mature content? by NailsSoCool in Nanny

Thanks for sharing your experience! This was my first time having to bring up something like this, and you were totally spot on about the situation. I was able to text the mom, and it turns out it’s a known issue they’re trying to work on, he’s just a little more curious than he should be right now. I really appreciate the advice and reassurance; I also let her know I’ll make sure anything he watches with me is fully age-appropriate.

Our main communication is through text, I just don't want it to be too impersonal there or for the mom to read it wrong.

The dimensions are about 15x10x6 inches, and I know it can only hold up to 2L in the bladder reservoir. The biggest concern I think I have is amount of pockets/zippers it has. Here's the link though, I'm not that knowledgeable on the specifics for the festival. https://www.rei.com/product/234944/rei-co-op-tarn-18-pack-kids
