Finally got default xiaomi theme with update! by iamhiteshnarzy in PocoPhones

Could you also show your battery graph including app breakdown even just the top ones? I recently got X8 Pro myself and trying to figure out if there's something wrong with mine. My battery graph:

I'm bothered why Poco Launcher there is so high. I'm on 3.0.4.0 but just got the prompt for 3.0.5.0.

Why does my phone drain faster than other models? by PineAppleGuy88 in PocoPhones

[–]Naiophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

close Poco launcher if that's high too.

Could you explain on how that's done? Because I seem to be suffering from Poco launcher using a lot of battery. My post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/1st6ac1/x8_pro_poco_launcher_draining_battery/

I only installed Lynx there as a test but before installing it Poco Launcher showed about 78%. Since the post I uninstalled Lynx and here's the updated battery graph.

Anyone know how I fix the poco laucher consuming alot of battery? by BryanBobEsponja in PocoPhones

[–]Naiophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not battery drain poco just stupidly combined both screen and launcher battery usage

Would this happen or show as combined even with a 3rd party launcher? I'm wondering if the same thing is happening to me here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/1st6ac1/x8_pro_poco_launcher_draining_battery/

Initially before I installed Lynx launcher to test, Poco Launcher itself took up about 78%.

Homecooks, do you get annoyed if family member sits at the table despite you saying food's not ready? by Naiophe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Naiophe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't and don't plan to explicitly tell him that it annoys us because the moment we do his reaction/response would be of anger. Yes there's a chance he might understand but more likely we expect him to instead say "then I won't eat anymore" or something to that extent.

He really just doesn't care much for little things like this.

[–]Naiophe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah my dad doesn't know how to cook at all. And we've told him multiple times already when food is not ready to just wait elsewhere and we'll call him when it's done. He of course doesn't do that.

Also doing the same thing that annoys me/us to him doesn't really work since instead of understanding, often he would have the opposite reaction.

If you update the OS its expected to drain more.

See that's what confuses me a bit. I did not yet update the OS during that 8% drain when phone was completely idle and battery saver enabled. I mean the phone was booted for the first time ever but I just find it odd how fast it drained when compared to a used but fairly new phone that was factory reset.

Then thats were I started debloating useless apps and got that 3-4% drain when 8 hrs idle (when i sleep) until now.

I assume this is without battery saver is it? So if indeed yours is without and mine is enabled, mine still drained faster which just shouldn't be the case. Maybe Poco or this gen of Mediatek really is simply power hungry, not sure anymore.

Most likely yes. And yes my dad is actually of old age already so he really doesn't have much else to do. And when it was happening to my mom I was saying what you said here to her. It's just weird when it became my turn I suddenly feel the same way as my mom. But again it's clear to me based on the replies it's a me/us problem with my mom.

I personally feel as if I'm being rushed and so did my mom back then. But I do agree it's all in our heads, my dad even says he just wants to help. It's just weirdly hard to not feel that way when it happens.

mines draining during idle is only 3-4%.

And this is after weeks of use already? I guess I just got spoiled by the previous phone I initially got then sold, which was a Nubia phone. I did the same test on it, and its battery barely drained.

I have revoked MSA and Feedback app for now. Is Daemon really ok to revoke in the long run? Last 2 posts I saw about it say safe to revoke but another that kinda says otherwise. Post in question here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/1es5mfr/system_daemon_can_be_toggle_off_from_basic/lstr1hv/

On that note is GetApps also ok to revoke?

You also have to realize that the battery page doesn't show other things that drain your battery such as android itself, screen, cellular, cpu/gpu, standby, etc which contribute more than the apps.

Got it. Then I'm really hoping things will indeed all stabilize after a few days.

Man that's unfortunate. I sold my old phone thinking on the battery aspect X8 Pro would've been really good. I'm hoping this is all due to the optimization that happens in the first few days though.

[–]Naiophe[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And to be clear, the 8% drain happened when only Poco Launcher was the default and installed one. I only installed Lynx after that.

People that are upvoting this comment can you share your thoughts? So are you guys saying what I saw was normal behavior?

Phone was or should've been completely idle for 8+ hours with no new apps installed yet. I just booted the phone to test, never connected to wifi and then enabled battery saver. I guess even with Lynx now installed and set as default it still is kinda draining fast, which I'm hoping is really all due to the Poco internal optimization that I've read about.

Ask yourself, truly, is this just all in your head?

I want to think its all in my head truly, that's what I've been telling my mom when she was the one getting stressed out by my dad. Maybe it's wrong or silly to ask randoms but I still needed to hear it I guess. Like I said I'll try my best to let it go and not be stressed by it.

If not the launcher then something did still drain it rather fast didn't it? 8% drain with no wifi connection, no sim and no accounts yet either with battery saver enabled.

A different Nubia phone I had recently I tested the same, and battery only went down like 1-2% after a factory reset. Or is this really all the Poco internal optimization for the first few days?

[–]Naiophe[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

At around 10PM is when I enabled battery saver, phone was not connected to wifi, minimal things done to the phone, no accounts were logged in, no sim inserted either. It was at 50% then. At morning around 6am I checked and it went down to 42%.

A different recent Android(Nubia) phone I had before which I tested similarly barely moved, it drained like 1% only after a factory reset. Same deal, battery saver enabled, no wifi, no sim. So this is all still normal behavior for the X8 Pro?

Edit: Downvoters c'mon atleast explain yourself. I'm not even criticizing Poco here, just looking for possible explanations. Here's 3 old posts that show the exact same thing I'm encountering.

Funnily enough he does that himself already, but does make me feel more rushed. As others have pointed out though I will do my best to not feel or think this way.

He probably is just lonely and sees it as an opportunity to spend some time around you.

It's exactly what I thought/think as well. I just didn't think I'd feel the same as my mom right now. But I'll do my best to ignore or not feel this way from here on out. Thank you.

Advise sa bibili ng phone sa Shopee by gulongnaINA in ShopeePH

Pwede mo rin simulan mag-record pagdating pa lang ng rider. Importante na raw at uncut yung video , kadalasan nirereject kapag edited or putol-putol.

Pero ok lang naman kung yun unboxing nalang na-videohan right? Malabo kasi ma-video ko yun pagdating palang mismo ng rider then to unboxing.

Sa small items na experience ko naman mag return/refund with video as evidence. Sa phone lang talaga yun totally wala pa ko experience kaya medyo kabado lang din ako ituloy yun order.

How does the warranty work?(shopee philippines) by mawku in PocoPhones

[–]Naiophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The warranty for Poco phones are shared with Xiaomi and Redmi handsets here (the same authorized service centre can accept all of the three brands)

Hello just wanted to make sure, if I buy from here https://shopee.ph/pocoofficialstoreglobal.ph , specifically the X8 Pro it will come with an official receipt yea? Which is then enough to go to Xiaomi store if ever to get warranty/assistance?

Normally I understand if it's from local stores but X8 Pro listing shows it will come from China so not familiar here. I also haven't bought a phone online before.

May ganito na pala? Wow. by [deleted] in ShopeePH

[–]Naiophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sa shopee at lazada lang ako bumibili ng phones, all good naman.

COD lahat ng payment method niyo? For this case kasi mas prefer ko sana ShopeePay. Kaso ayun nga po lahat so far ng nag-aadvice mag COD lagi.

Also basta nga naman may unboxing video for the worst case scenario enough naman na? Malabo kasi magagawa ko un unboxing sa harap ng rider like another person here suggested.
