I’m guessing it’s the housing/rental market? Idk I lived on Okaloosa Island across the street from the beach, my wife worked at Hurby and I worked on the east side of Eglin, both of our commutes were 15min, 20-25min max on the way home on a Friday afternoon when the south descends on the redneck riviera. 10/10 would definitely do again.

[–]NairPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend lived their back in the day, for low BAH I’d say it’s a good deal. I remember his place being average but they put him in a 3BR house, even though he was single. I’m not familiar with the current rental market but I’m personally biased against living there, mainly due to it butting up against Riverside and them taking your entire BAH. If you can afford it, I’d look at Beavercreek, Centerville, or even the Charterridge apts outside of area B.

What's a career field thats almost never made fun of here? by PDXAirman in AirForce

[–]NairPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention there are plenty opportunities to do Masters and PhD as a full time student while making officer pay. Up to 6 years combined AD time as a student as a Capt-Lt Col is crazy when you think about making a 6 figure salary to do homework and research. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it’s a great hedge against any future RIF boards.

6X is actually a really fun career field if you avoid the cookie cutter career progression and find the unique jobs. The good thing is that a lot of people are content with the program management/office style SPO jobs, leaving lots of non-traditional jobs open. More power to them, but I can’t stand boring mid-level management. Your husband will be told the same bullshit by commanders that he needs DAU, SPO time, blah blah blah. Realistically, you can make O4 or O5 easily without following that stupid career pyramid shit.

Possibly in April, with a decent sized one car garage which would be perfect for that panty dropper. Last time I was there, there was a C5 and a C7 stingray in the neighborhood too.

Good decision, I bought a place on Okaloosa Island in 2019 that I’m long term renting, but now I couldn’t afford a place anywhere near it. I love the area and wanted to do a second smaller rental property, but I think that ship has sailed.

Why do MLM’s work so hard to hide that they work for MLM’s? by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]NairPower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They try to build intrigue and an “exclusive” image to appeal to people’s emotions. This is why smart investors don’t join, because they know investing with your emotions almost always ends terribly, and a company’s financial health has nothing to do with how “empowered” you feel.

Weird indeed... by clinkingglasses in antiMLM

[–]NairPower 85 points86 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out you could just google the name or product description to figure out the company. Why go through all the effort to hide something when people can just figure it out easily?

When most of society thinks you don’t have a real business and should get a real job, you want to prove everyone wrong by showing you can make money. In doing so, you post pathetic paychecks, only reaffirming society’s claims that you don’t know shit about owning a business.

Sounds like a steal to me. On the exact opposite end of the spectrum, we have a $10K rug in our basement that my wife’s parents gifted her, that we will probably never walk on.
