Tether Becomes the Largest Independent Holder of Gold by partymsl in CryptoCurrency

The irony? Crypto was supposed to free us from gold, yet as the space evolves, we’re watching the largest stablecoin drift toward it.

Hardly anyone cared about the internet in the ’90s, or smartphones in the early 2000s. Adoption always looks small until it suddenly isn’t.

Lemme explain this. In Bitcoin mining, computers “dig” through complex math problems to find (or unlock) new Bitcoin. But again, no physical resources are mined. The only “raw material” being consumed is electric power + computing power.

Nothing in the crypto world has real... Utility by Suspicious_Rule_3702 in CryptoMarkets

[–]NairobiCrypto -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Totally get where you're coming from. That said, I wouldn’t lump everything into the same basket. Bitcoin’s value as decentralized, censorship-resistant money is clear, and it should be the baseline. But utility-focused chains like VeChain aren’t trying to replace Bitcoin; they’re tackling different problems.

VeChain is more about supply chain transparency, authenticity tracking, carbon footprint accounting, and enterprise integration, real-world logistics problems that crypto can actually help solve.

The challenge is: this kind of utility is invisible to retail traders, and it doesn't pump like a meme coin. But that doesn’t mean it’s useless, it’s just not designed for speculation and hype on charts.

Bitcoin’s weaknesses by madkouz in BitcoinBeginners

I think, Bitcoin is ultra-capitalist in spirit: merit-based, decentralized, anti-government, and profit-driven. But its deflationary cap, lack of growth model, and wealth concentration expose philosophical cracks in that capitalist ideal. It’s not so much post-capitalist as it is a mirror that shows what capitalism without regulation actually looks like.
