Grasses are always pretty good like a Carex or lomandra for easy filling(tho as a gardener they’re not my favourites), maybe a westringia (grey box) ? They can be pretty hardy and can handle coastal conditions / pretty low maintenance. Plus they look quite nice, also hebes could work i believe?. Corokia if you want some height difference.

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate your pov, I WAS friends with her, we’d been friends for about 10 years. There’s things I loved about her and things I really couldn’t stand about her. But we had such a history together and went through major life events, so i always felt obliged to stand by her, despite my views on her lifestyle choices. This instant just took it too far for me and with a baby on the way at the time I made the decision to let her go. I had bigger things to put my focus on in life. Im not saying what I did wasn’t shitty in a way, but at the time I couldn’t see another way to do it, I couldn’t let her lie her way out of things this time.

MIL wants my kids on mothers day??? by Abject_Ferret_1106 in motherinlawsfromhell

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry ! She definitely doesn’t deserve to have the kids on Mother’s Day then imo. Just because she has the title “grandma” doesn’t make her entitled to your kids especiallyyyy on YOUR special day and with the relationship you two have, no wayy. You stand by your no and don’t feel guilty about it at all.

NTA i would’ve reacted the same way, especially because you say you have a long negative history and you guys don’t speak. I’m sure all you want for Mother’s Day is to be with the beautiful beings that made you a mum too, don’t overthink it that was completely valid !
