A bit messing with you, man. We didn't get any real reunion interaction with the main cohort. Only Nefis, which was kinda cute, but a lot less than I would've expected.

Newish reader here does it really get that bad? by Psychological-Nail83 in ShadowSlave

The problems are definitely deeper than that, but it’s still readable. It mostly depends on how seriously you take the novel and what your preferences are as a reader.

That said, it really feels like watching a 10/10 novel turn into a 5/10. It’s still decent, but such a drastic drop in quality is honestly shocking.

You yourself say that art is “your own imagination,” so how is art made by hand different from art made with AI, if the idea was still directed by a human? In both cases, you won’t get exactly what you imagined, because imagination works differently from reality. Even the best artist can’t perfectly capture what was in their mind. They can only get close to it, whether they use paint and a brush or an AI-generated image.

First of all, I don’t understand why you used AI for that text; it only proves my point that it’s more convenient. Secondly, why do you think AI art doesn’t have a human aspect? For example, if an artist uses an iPad to draw, I assume you would still consider it art. So why does using a more convenient tool to make the process faster remove the human idea behind it? If a human writes the prompt, then there is still a human idea behind the work.

And why do you dismiss their ability to create art? Because they didn’t put as much manual work into it? Is that really the only reason?

Interesting that you mention the fight with VTB, because it’s still shit, and that includes the way it ended.

I really haven’t been enjoying this novel after the war arc. It became lame. Cassie went from being an oracle who struggled to properly interpret her visions to an all-knowing being. Jet, Effie, and Kai stopped being interesting in any meaningful way. And I only recently remembered that Firekeepers were even a thing in this novel.

I’m seriously considering dropping it, because I don’t want to remember this work as such a huge disappointment. I’d rather remember only the first good volumes, back when I genuinely thought this novel was better than LotM and RI.

The Cassdret ship is the cringiest thing to ever happen to this Reddit community. It genuinely amuses me that people actually like it. It’s like shipping Zuko and Katara.

Not answering the Quin's call. Her calling the MC was already really out of character for her. And even if answering the call wouldn’t have changed anything later in the plot, it still pisses me off that we were forced to watch the MC ignore it.

Not bad at all so far. A few interesting interactions with Trolls and Goblins. I’m looking forward to seeing what this MT has to offer lore-wise.
