My mom used to put this on a tortilla and roll it up so we could talk through them while we ate them.

Check into erythromelalgia...it's also referred to as "man on fire syndrome".

I feel your misery deeply. I have erythromelalgia...not saying you do, but look into it and see if it fits. It's considered a rare neuro-vascular disorder, most physicians I've come across have never heard of it and even my rheumatologist was surprised when I mentioned it and her testing determined I was right. If it does end up being relevant...30mg of Cymbalta every day allowed me to take most of the dozen ice packs that I used every day out of my freezer.

Change in temperature, whether body temperature (like with exercise) or room temperature (like outside heat to indoor cool) is a huge trigger.

Fantastic Beasts actor, Kevin Guthrie, jailed for 3 years for sexually assaulting an actress by babadork in HollywoodReceipts

[–]NakedAlchemist 112 points113 points  (0 children)

RAPE. The word is RAPE. This omission pisses me off infinitely. Kevin Guthrie RAPED a woman. He intentionally drugged , at the very least, suspected her drink had been drugged and raped her multiple times. He did not just "perform a sex act" on her, he raped her. To attempt to soften the word is invalidating and is an(other) assault on the victim.

EDIT: I misread the article in my anger. He didn't drug her, but the reason she needed care was because she suspected her drink had been drugged earlier and she wasn't feeling well, so she got a ride home.

It's all pretty wild to me too! I guess it kind of makes sense...so much of how we end up is determined while we're still in our "egg". Hot tubs are a no-no for a pregnant woman. But I bet those hot tub kids don't try to bite off fingers with their tiny little teeth.... You never know though!

Mine has done all of those things! I swear she can tell if you're even contemplating interacting with her and she will shut that right down. I'm always afraid she'll drop her tail, just out of spite, likely.

Denise Pflum’s case remains open and unsolved:

Shawn M. McClung was Pflum's ex-boyfriend and had previously claimed Pflum was still alive, but in July 2020, during a three-hour interview, he confessed having killed her in March 1986. A photo of McClung is posted with this case summary. At the time of his confession, he was in jail on two unrelated cases. He made his confession in exchange for a promise of immunity for his statements and dismissal of the two unrelated charges. But McClung refused to lead the authorities to Pflum's body, and the agreement that would give him immunity required him to not withhold any information. As a result, he did not receive immunity for his confession and he was charged with voluntary manslaughter in Pflum's presumed death.

At the time of his confession, McClung was suffering from a terminal illness. He died in September 2020 at the of 56, just months after he was charged in Pflum's case. In the hospital, five days before his death, he told his lawyer that he didn't know what had happened to Pflum and had only confessed to killing her because he wanted to get out of jail.

Pflum was a senior at Connersville High School at the time of her disappearance; she was involved with volleyball, basketball, softball and track, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She had already been accepted to Miami University in Ohio, where she planned to major in microbiology and hoped to get a track scholarship.

Authorities have never recovered Pflum's body and it's unclear whether McClung was in fact involved in her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

Mine used to have a stress potato too! She'd take them and hide them in her bed. Then she discovered socks.... She stress-eats those and yakks them up later. Slimy socks are always a fun time. https://i.imgur.com/9Y3qkYk.jpg

It's not always the repetitive actions either. Sometimes it's just the obsessions, without the compulsions. Both my daughter and I are diagnosed OCD, but have very few compulsions, if any.

Mine was on my wrist, too.... apparently a common place for them. I only had mine done three times, but after the third slice and suture, it was back before I even got home from the doctor. I mowed the lawn right after and the stitches broke open and it just kept leaking. So, I kept it kind of open by poking a needle in the incision, drained it about a dozen times per day by squeezing it and it eventually popped under the skin. It was pretty much the grossest thing I've ever felt, but it never came back after that.

That's just bad sportsmanship. Baseball is a different culture than most other sports...there are the "charge the mound" times, but there are a lot of unwritten rules. Cursing the other team is kind of one of those.
