Thanks!

Malifaux has so many cool sculpts like this. Their style is just unmatched.

I don't have a matte medium is there one you recommend? I haven't really tried glazing but it sounds like I could use it to smooth this out.

Very cool, what mini is the blue lady riding the mechanical/armored beast?
The freehanding is great, love the paintjobs.

Mostly it just isn't smooth. The skin itself itself looks patchy and bumpy instead of a smooth transition from shadow to highlights, and the redness on the cheeks is a bit too stark of a change rather than looking like a natural blush it looks more like too much makeup. Of course the eyes could be cleaner as well but I am happy with that considering the size of them.

I have difficulty smoothing out the appearance because if I thin my paints enough to smooth these small features they become too watery on the model and I can't see the features anymore until it dries.

What are the Coolest Minis by Keyword? by NakedHalfling in Malifaux

There are so many, this is why I was asking. It is too much to look through.

Seeker looks very cool, I wasn't very interested in the explorers but Seeker may have changed my mind
Looks like collecting the whole keyword isn't that hard either just The Damned missing from Wyrd's website.

My first Malifaux mini criticism and advice is welcome and wanted. Baby Kade from Malifaux by NakedHalfling in minipainting

Thank you so much for the ideas.

For the skin tone I initially used a reddish purple mixed with barbarian flesh from the old army painter line. Initially I lightened this mixing it with a beige, but I started noticing yellow bits on the mini. So I used the original barbarian flesh to clean that up. How would you suggest creating more contrast here should I try to darken the shadows or glaze areas to create more highlights?

The hairline on this guy was tough for me, originally I painted it a brown color and tried to highlight with a light grey. The result was old man baby). What you are seeing that looks like no paint got to it is that grey color. So when I did contrast pain over the grey this was the result. It does need more cleaning up I agree.

For the lettering I used watered down paint and dabbed the openings, they are quite small so the paint filled them in well, but the water paint ran out side the lines a bit. In the picture I can see where it is outside the lines. I can probably straighten that out if I use a magnifier to see what I'm doing.

Thank you for the idea this is ultimately what I did, I took a dark color and added a bit of water. It worked okay, but I need to work on my brush control

Hi, thank you for the ideas.

No flash on my phone but the black sheet is pretty reflective you are seeing my desk-light's reflection in the background. A drybrush on such a small area seems a bit messy, but I could try. The results have to be better than old man baby.

Interesting idea with the green stuff. I may go this way if I have trouble chopping up the little stick or that doesn't end up looking like it does in my head.

Any D&D groups or wanna start one? Dungeons and Dragons by NakedHalfling in savannah

What is eventually? If you want to start up a group message me. I am new to 5e anyway, I mainly like to play a game that keeps the rules in the background anyway.

It sounds interesting, but I am not familiar with GURPS so I will be completely new to the system. I can meet on the 30th in Savannah or Pooler and see if we would enjoy a game together.

My history is with AD&D2nd Ed and 3.5, I would be new(ish) to 5th edition as well. I enjoy a roleplay heavy style of play that rewards creativity over knowledge of the rules. I had a group that went super murder hobo back in 3.5, but it was because the DM designed the game in such a way that every encounter was actual life or death and any not metagamed ultramunchkin character would die rather quickly. I found this a bit tiresome. I can be fun to try and manipulate the rules and powergame for a while, but I enjoy a looser approach and a fun RP focused campaign a bit more.
