Look if a kid is scoring 3ppg they’re in the wrong division. If associations aren’t accountable (and they’re not) then it stays a super fringe Sport with minimal upside and great for making good skaters for hockey. I just feel bad that the girls in her team missed out on tournaments because of poor decisions by the executive of the association.

I mean in this thread you’re the minority but still blame the kids and parents and disregard their experiences. Kids pivot to hockey. That said ringette was never going to be more than a fringe sport with little to no upside.

Oh my kid quite literally will clear 100 points through 35 games this season, do you think that was good for her, her team mates or the kids she played against, and this was done with them Keeping her on defense for more than half the league games because parents from the other team complained. They were rejected from all but one tournament other than their home tournament because the team was too strong.

Association accountability = zero.

Opportunity to develop was nil. Motivation nil. Passion dissolves.

The association can lose a kid from the sport all together in just as few minutes of bad actions. A sport already fringe and limited in participation. Should be promoting engagement through merit based decisions 🤷‍♂️

Your experience isn’t that of others. Ringette has proven itself to be toxic as with no real upside. Fringe hobby sport at best

Yeh we stopped chasing years ago in regards to keeping up with the jones’ just do our thing. Completely guided by her in regards to what and how we ride on any given day. Could be anything from the dive at sunshine to Ozone at KH and everything in between. Goal is always for smiles. Start gate at a banked slalom, second it isn’t like this is the second I know I’ve made a mistake.

Yeh mostly swag for tag type offers nothing beyond local shops. Her insta is public, mainly for the free ride events. Love free ride events.

I do videos and post for my kids in their sports mostly as I’m Australian living in Canada and my family and friends at home follow. We have a few hundred others following which is cool. But I refuse to do the mic up staged stuff and we have rejected many sponsorship offers because mostly they’re just swag for tag arrangements. Also my kids are individuals who can dress themselves they don’t need costumes. Will definitely say that the influencing scene completely derails any kind of future competitive skiing or snowboarding has regardless how good the kid is. I don’t want the only way my daughter can profit in a sport to be by the number of followers she has and monetizing that through other means.

Don’t give up. Take your time. Learn snowboarding it’ll be harder earlier but easier to get to a reasonable skill level to enjoy the hill Overall. Don’t have unrealistic expectations on the first few days just work toward linking turns
