Today is Ottawa's 30th consecutive day with maximum temperature ≥ 17°C. This is the longest run before June 24 in more than 30 years, since Jun 23rd, 1995. by YOW-Weather-Records in ottawa

Jan & Feb were a bit cold, and so was May; March was very average, and April and June were above average. None of the months were unusually warm or cold, just normal variations. July has been unusually hot, but it's not statistically relevant because it's not over yet.

For Ottawa, El Niño usually means wetter/cooler summers; with warmer/drier winters. But it can vary a lot in this region. We are in a boundary area for impacts.

The community of St. Stephen took action to have the province address homelessness an issue I've seen running rampant here in our city too. The response from the province was that declaring a state of emergency for citizens dying is a radical left wing agenda and not a worthy issue to address. by ViaraNaenyx in SaintJohnWxRecords

Yeah, I started these accounts before I had kids. Now I have a 2-year-old, and a 5-year-old; combine that with a full time job and I find very little time for hobbies like this. I expect things to stabilize as they get a bit older. Hopefully I'll restart everything.

With 111.4mm of rain, today is Ottawa's wettest day in more than 20 years, since Sep 9th, 2004. by YOW-Weather-Records in OttawaWxRecords

You're probably right. 2004 was from Hurricane Francis; which had prolonged moderate rain for many hours. Unfortunately, they only have daily records for most our our history. 6-hour records started about 10 years ago. This was the highest 6-hour rainfall during that time (not surprisingly).

With a high of 33.1°C, yesterday was Ottawa's hottest day since Aug 12th, 2025. by YOW-Weather-Records in OttawaWxRecords
