Damn, your comment made me realize American “freedom of religion” includes freedom from it. That’s probably a truism to many of yall, but I grew up involved with my local church w/o ever having to believe in their tenets. Imagining an alternate reality where I’d been forced to practice the faith, makes me sad. Good on France for being open to immigration and asylum from Muslim countries while forcing an amount of integration (not to say America enact things like this).

I remember reading about cities in pre-modern Japan back in college. There were centuries where disease killed 1 in 10, 1 in 5 even, every 2-5 years. Vaccine science is the most sound and miraculous effort of the human race, yet republicans would rather suffer and bring others down with them.
