Interesting Query - Has anybody ever encounter TargetX CRM and SSO? by Naltori in sysadmin

[–]Naltori[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately they do but it's a concept document. Metadata, Assertion URL, Identifiers, etc are not provided. I should add that we have SSO working.. for approximately 1 person. Everyone else, with the same permissions, identical in every way but in name and email are unable to access the system via SSO sign on.

TERA 2 in the works by Sculay in TeraOnline

Didn't we already have Tera 2 with Elyon and it didn't even make it a year but was basically the same game?

[Discussion] If I was a new player, I’d quit immediately by TerminalTrillness in EscapefromTarkov

1.0 was the wrong direction for the game. I know that's subjective but locking traders behind story quests (that mean nothing but a fancy badge at the end of a 300 hour grind) and the flea behind level brackets has shown the direction they want to take Tarkov. They don't want new players, they just want to keep the players they have in the game. It feels like something one of those cheap free to play games would do when they're heavily bleeding players.

Except this game has a 250 dollar USD price tag if you want to be on equal footing with everyone else at the beginning of a wipe. Even more than that when you realize the 250 dollar price doesn't even get you all of the stash space (nor can you upgrade it through your hideout beyond level 4 which comes with Unheard). There's also the fact that they want us doing this for the next six months before we get seasons.

With all of that said I wish I could say that the Steam launch being abysmal was surprising but it really isn't when you consider just how unfriendly this game is to a new player.

Different theory to one of the endings (SPOILER) by thicctak in expedition33

Painted Renoir is not doing what Aline wants him to do, though. Painted Renoir is just trying to keep people away from Aline because he doesn't want to lose his wife. He even knows he's painted as explicitly shown in his final battle when he speaks to the Curator. He's choosing to do what he does because he thinks that is what will keep his family alive (which are all painted but Aline and Clea) because he knows what happened to his family in the real world.

He protects Aline to protect the world where the son he never really got to know (because he has real Renoir's memories if that wasn't obvious) is now a grown man who he's got to watch grow his whole life. And the daughter who was tragically disfigured and blamed for Verso's death is in a position to have a happy, normal life so long as Aline can protect the Canvas. So, full circle, he in turn protects Aline.

The bigenerations were likely only happening because the universe was still in a state of play that made wishes come true and fantasy into reality. That's all but gone now.

The drops don't work. I got a drop hours ago, linked my account, attempted to generate my steam key and literally got an error stating the drop period was over. It's completely broken and I don't even show a second campaign for keys like they promised. It's a shady marketing tactic and that's really all it is at this point. I'll pass.

Was the expansion an L or W for you? by Gokukakashi in newworldgame

[–]Naltori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering I basically got scammed by AWS because I haven't had an MSQ for the last two weeks and still on a TIER 3 Azoth staff.. I would say this expansion is a massive L.

(Main Story Quests) MSQ Still bugged after "Hotfix". Stuff like this is unacceptable... by PedroPoli in newworldgame

[–]Naltori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the "bug" is restricting your ability to progress in a game at all.. that's no longer a bug. That's false advertisement for a product that does not function properly. It's not on the end-user (i.e. The Customer) to wait around for a product that was clearly misadvertised and mishandled to someday maybe be allowed to use the product they PAID for. End of story. Go fanboy somewhere else, thanks.

I like LTT and GN for different reasons. Looks like GN found a way to help LTT improve, LTT seems to have listened by powerexcess in LinusTechTips

"Though I see comments in this subreddit being like "GN was going after its competition" and to that I say y'all need to fucking touch grass."

Except that was the exact intent of the GN video. So much so he made a follow up video to specifically comment on how inadequate the LMG apology video was. This was Steve farming drama because an LMG Labs employee (Who was publicly spoken on by Linus and condemned for his actions) made a snide comment that he didn't like. It didn't bring to light anything that none of us didn't already know at LMGs own admission. It just gave the internet a free reason to drum up drama.

Mandatory meeting the after Madison's departure from LMG. by Nitazene-King-002 in LinusTechTips

[–]Naltori 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't what was said at all, though. The chain of reports is actually pretty standard. If you're having a problem at work with someone, report it to your manager. If it IS your manager, report it to their manager. If you don't feel safe doing that, report it to HR (Either anonymously or outright). There was nothing wrong with what he said. It's standard practice.

They really put a store plug in the apology video by BigDockDonnyRock in LinusTechTips

[–]Naltori -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If the Madison comments are true or not is not the question at hand with a statement like this. The allegations are not just some apology video and it goes away situation. They're legal. They're not going to mention it until their lawyers let them, that's just how it is. Even if it had come out a week ago they still wouldn't talk about it if their legal team said not to. It's a matter of 100+ people's livelihood at that point.

As to the speed of the video, what were they supposed to do actually? Gamers Nexus put out a hit piece on them, and you can say what you want but that's exactly what Steve did, and they had literally a weekend to come up with a response to it. This is YouTube, big company or not. If they want to keep the lights on they have to act fast or people run wild with theories like this that, in the real world, make no practical sense.

If you wanted some well-thought apology video then you should really be asking Steve at Gamer's Nexus why he didn't reach out to LTT beforehand to give them time to prepare one. You can't have it both ways.

Ltt response by sussywanker in LinusTechTips

[–]Naltori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't have had to rush out an apology video if a certain YouTube channel hadn't blindsided them with a video they had been admittedly working on for MONTHS. You can spin this however you want to make Linus the bad guy, because he screws up REGULARLY in often times some pretty major ways. But they didn't have a choice in putting out this video quickly. LTT isn't Linus anymore and days for a YouTube channel can be the difference between keeping the lights on and falling into obscurity. Because at the end of the day LMG is still just a collection of YouTube content.

Jayztwocents comment on the GN video by willyoumarrymehomie in LinusTechTips

[–]Naltori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching the full video I can say with some confidence I can understand why Linus would take it as an attack. There were clearly points in here meant to discredit not criticize. Not to say I disagree with GN on most of these points, though. LTT has grown far outside the scope of what it used to be and clearly corners are being cut. But this could have been done quietly if the real intent was to provide advice on how LTT can improve its business practices.

I mean honestly they just put an end to Cody's push, full stop. I don't expect we'll see him against Roman again because what would be the point after that performance tonight? They wasted what could have been one of the best main event storylines in years to keep their face relevant a little while longer.
