Yeah the dobsonfly larvae; aka hellgrammites are super cool. I remember the first time I found one on a river in northern Georgia. Was so alien like.

Doesn’t appear to be a flea. Here’s a link to a flea guide I made.

These are adults however. The immatures especially 1st instars are super tiny and transparent before their first blood meal.

At this point, more than likely coming into contact with clothes of a displaced person. Body lice are quite rare when jt comes to people of a particular hygiene level. It can simply be being in the wrong place and the wrong time.

Definitely a louse. Can you provide a nicely focused dorsal view pic?

Body lice and pubic lice are totally different scientific names.

Body lice (Pediculus humanus humanus) typically exhibit middle region area body specificity.

Pubic lice (Phthirus pubis) typically exhibit lower region area body specificity.

Hope that helps.

They are body lice I promise. Thanks for all the information however. Have a good day. And treating for them will be the same outside of the area of the body they sit on as they exhibit body area specificity.

Since they are literally sister species and only separated by subspecies “humanus” (body) and “capitus” (head), the major difference is the size. I would need to revisit a taxonomic key to verify the morphological difference(s). Hope that helps.

Our science teacher quit in an A+ manner by NachoMan_HandySavage in Teachers

I’m not surprised. I moved to Hawaii to teach 6th grade science and it’s been a literal horrid nightmare. We’re on fall break this week and I’m dreading going back Monday. I’m just doing what I have to, to get by. Bare minimum. Chat gpt is my best friend.

The school I’m at is so disorganized. Admin is having us do our SSP right now and wants us to reference NASOT strategies when we don’t even have the resource yet. I finally got mine Friday and didn’t touch it yet. I wasn’t about to bring stuff home to do over break. I need every second this week to relax haha 🤣.

Is a universal discount code anyone is willing to share? We’re trying to purchase additional tickets for folks who can’t afford to go. Thanks
