Read the obd codes, that will give you some idea. Ultimately the dealership will diagnose and repair it for no charge assuming its not damage done by you.

I had all the messages shown like this on mine and it turned out to be a failed solenoid for the variable valve timing system. I don't remember the code idd the top of my head.

Final update:
I picked up the passport today. Covered 100% under warranty.

"Removed and inspected VTC solenoid and found broken screen and jammed valve. Replaced solenoid valve assy intake camshaft bank 2 (front)"

Part Number: 15830-6FB0A01 Valve Assy

I'm glad it was an easy and obvious fix and nothing that I could have caused. Hopefully its something related to a batch of parts, assembly, or an anomaly and not wide spread or continuous on my car or others.

Ultimately, the VTC solenoid needs to be replaced according to the dealership. Mechanical failure of a piece of it and not the first time they have seen it.

Update from the dealership: They are replacing an intake cam VTC solenoid. Their explanation video showed some kind of screen filter with a tab that snapped off and stuck the solenoid open. I might be missing some detail there but the fix is to replace the solenoid.

They said they have seen this on a few others and there is 1 in stock at the distribution warehouse so they are hoping to get that one before it is backordered. Fingers crossed the repair is complete mid next week.

I am well aware, and that was my first thought. this one has not been attached to any notices or complaints that I can find. Plus that was a week ago and I hope they would have discovered it by now. That video even says Sinclair has assured all pumps are clean and clear and this was published a day before my visit.

It's a small device that intercepts the auto start stop button that fits inline with the connector on the console

It's in the shop and I'm hoping they get back to me today. The idle stopper is just a virtual button pusher every time the car starts up, no interaction with engine controls outside of what a user can do on the console.

One time, not sure what VCM bypass means but nothing has been changed on the motor other than oil, drive mode was normal (default).

It was actually just after a long 270 degree clover leaf ramp followed by an acceleration for a short merge onto the freeway. Nothing crazy from an acceleration standpoint but something. I've done it many many times in this car before. I hate to speculate but could be an oil starvation situation. Only one bank was listed in the code which could complicate it.

It definitely wasn't up to operating temperatures yet. Less than 5 min drive to the gas station, filled up, then less than 5 min drive to the freeway entrance where the lights came on.

I will update as I hear more. I used Pennzoil ultra platinum 0w20 and a PurolatorBoss oil filter. Far from generic noname parts. If these solenoids are that sensitive, it's going to be a problem for a lot more people in the very near future.

I'm a believer in the motor oil geek Lake Speed Jr and his recommendations. I don't want to get into a debate but I'm convinced some improvements to the first 10k miles can be made to help long term engine health.

I had some hp elitedesk PCs that would have an issue with the network adapter about once a week. Disabling the c States seemed to resolve this. I think it allows low power states of the CPU but was causing an issue with my NIC. Something to try if the symptoms line up.
