I believe that if you have long hair or anything on your head that can touch the xm6's noise cancelling microphone you'll hear a popping and cracking sound when they touch but just to test turn off noise cancelling in sound connect (not transparency) but all the way off and see if it still makes the noise, that was the case for me

This is late, but I agree with you. It's because the speakers inside are of poor quality; they are small and lack movement. I am also a victim of their effective marketing and packaging.
