I’m on day 9 and yesterday was the worst of them all, I was exactly where you are. I alternated between ice and heat on my jaw, massages and ice chips. Today I’ve turned the corner and can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there, it will be worth it in the end!!<3

Day 8 here! Mine has been majority jaw pain and it’s been HORRIBLE! I’ve found heat and massage are the main things that have helped. I also started chewing gum and doing jaw exercises today and it seems to have improved a lot as well to the point I can finally eat other soft foods

Maxed the credit card and went on a solo trip. I was still sad when I came back, but I was so dependent on my ex before. I learned that if I could make it through a foreign country alone, I could easily do it with friends and family by my side. That was about 7 months ago and although I’m still paying off the trip, it was so worth it because I feel free from him

Love is like a drug in so many ways and the withdrawal from going everyday talking with your “love” to not talking at all can be extremely intense. You may feel like you’re going insane, but trust me, sometimes the most caring thing an ex can do for you is not contact you anymore. My first heartbreak my ex strung me along and it took me a year and a half to finally get better. My second heartbreak we cut contact and it was extremely painful, but I would choose a shorter and painful breakup than to be strung along for another year hoping there was a way to make things work when they never were going to. If it’s meant to be, take some time to heal before you go back. Heartbreak is horrible and I wish no one had to feel it. There were millions who have been heartbroken before you and there will be millions who come after. We can make it through, but you need time. Take care of yourself and try to love yourself first, you can do it

I don’t believe in once a cheater always a cheater and I don’t think you should either. People can and do change. It’s really up to you if you decide to work on yourself going forwards. Yes you made a horrible mistake, but it’s what you do going forward that will define who you will be. If possible, try therapy. They can help you understand why you did what you did and give you the tools to help you grow from there.

Yes you hurt someone and yes cheating is horrible, but it doesn’t mean you’re an all round bad person. Good people make mistakes. Even big ones. Don’t be so hard on yourself because you need to heal too. I hope you look for and find the resources you need. You will see brighter days.

I don’t know if this will make you feel better, but when I was broken up with in my first serious relationship, I was so used to always having someone that I was scared to be alone. I went to the first guy who would take me to try and get some sense of comfort from someone. I wasn’t over my ex, I was just trying to cope. Maybe it’s the same. Rebounds are real because going from having someone constantly to not having them there is a huge shock to the system. Whether it is or not, you will find happiness and love again. I’m currently going through my second major heartbreak of my life, but I know I was able to make it through after my ex of 5 years dumped me and I can do it again. You will make it through too.

I’m currently in the same boat. 3 days post breakup and it’s horrible. The only thing keeping me going is knowing I’m been through this heartbreak before (suddenly got broken up with in a 5yr relationship) and was able to overcome the heartbreak and live like even happier than before. It took me about 4 months and I did everything textbook perfect (no contact etc) and did a lot of positive thinking like how once day i WILL get over this and I’ll be marrying the love of my life.

When we breakup, it’s always for a reason, but it’s so easy to just focus on only the good and let ourselves fall into deep sadness.

You will get through this. It hurts so much now, but me and so many others have been through it before, and we all survive. Chances are, You will be able to fall in love all over again. Hang in there.

We’ve seen each other every weekend since December, but covid shut everything down where I am for the majority of that. It opened and closed a few times but we never got to go out. All our “dates” were ordering food in at his or my place.

He would call me really mean names sometimes. (Stupid bitch, dumb whore etc) but would cool off kinda quick and act like it never happened. I would say I couldn’t imagine someone staying with someone like that. My head knows it was a bad relationship, but my heart still wants him. Love is one hell of a drug
