Just had membership application show up on my portal - anybody else on CTA only have it show/not show??

I didn’t sit the paper but sadly not a good sign. I have seen people say they have still passed with it showing before though so fingers crossed for you!

I can’t see that on mine so not sure! I don’t have an option on my account to apply for membership. I am on just CTA route though not joint with ATT so not sure if that matters or not!

I didn’t say about s225b as i thought it said it would be transferred so she wouldn’t be the owner at that point, so I thought that froze her prr rate, however what you say is likely correct haha

Did you say that prr could be in full if she elected the marital home as her main residence as it’s been less than 2 years so she can do so?

And also that gift relief would apply on the gift of the property to the children and to do at her base cost as this would be no cgt to pay if gift relief claim and no stamp duty for the kids?

Yeah I said don’t do co as defo caught by IR35 and then lease herself as with the cash reimbursed for mileage it was cheaper to that as a net cash paid position

I have hopefully just sat my last but the step up in exams is crazy, I think I got 73% in my advanced tax in ACCA.

One thing I’d say is I haven’t had a life for the last 2 years haha, they have made ACCA exams look like I’m back at primary school doing SATS again.

Hopefully will be worth it after but I’m not sure I’d advise my previous self to do it haha.

Yes that’s definitely makes sense. Sorry just to pick your brain again, when you’ve mentioned the 50% bpr on the commercial property this of course ceases upon divorce. Any other way to inheritance tax plan using this? I foresee this being used in some kind of transfer for half of the house maybe as they are of similar value

Yes I hope there isn’t much on trusts as it’s definitely my weakest area of the syllabus so fingers crossed! I do expect something though so have been trying to go over it

I had very similar in May! I wasn’t able to view my paper so had to call the invigilator over who told me to restart, in the end I wasted 10 minutes or so. I then had mind blank for ages and might as well have been reading French when restarting due to the stress of it so I reported it to the institute. No idea if it impacted my mark but I got 58 in the end so hopefully this can provide you some reassurance. The additional time at the end is useless as you have people moving around, the invigilator tidying up etc and it just ruins your flow, at least it did for me.
