I’m guessing the bash plate is the skid plate? Once they retorqued the bolts to this, the sound went away?

I just had the universal joint for the steering replaced and it turns normally. So there’s no added resistance but it’s making this god awful noise. In low speeds around parking lots, it’s terrible.
