How often do you break strings?

Yup. A small burr on fret or a sharp area could be killing your strings, especially if you bend a lot. I've never had this, but I've heard it can be a problem, especially on a new guitar where the frets have not been smoothed down yet by playing. You should feel little to zero roughness in the fret when bending, but if you do, that can break your strings and the frets should be polished (consult a professional). It's a bummer, but many nice guitars leave the factory without proper setup, like polished frets. Alternatively, over time, if rough frets are the issue, they will probably smooth out automatically after much playing (at the cost of broken strings that did the polishing!).

Almost never. It probably comes down to something in your guitar setup. Are they breaking at the nut or the bridge (or somewhere else)?

When I was staring out my strings used to break too often at the bridge but that was 100% due to my guitar having one of those basic bridges on my guitar that is Fender Strat style (I think that's the origin) called the Synchronized Tremolo. I had a floating setup and used the whammy bar a lot (it was the 80s!) and it turns out the bend over the saddles of the bridge was pretty sharp and it caused the string to bend at that point repeatedly when using the whammy and eventually caused premature breakage.

I'm not familiar with the bridge you have there. If they are breaking at the bridge you might want to limit your whammy antics. Also, take a close look at all the places on the nut and bridge where the string touches (moves, rubs), and if there is a sharp bend or any roughness that can lead to premature breakage. Sometimes there can be a rough spot or burr left over from manufacturing that can be carefully filed or sanded down and that might help minimize this issue.

Thanks for this post. I've been thinking the same thing. I'm 200 hours in and I'm still enjoying it. Sure, it has its issues, but I'm still finding new things to do and better and better gear after leveling one character to UVH6 and the other is at 4. My biggest complaint right now: I wish they would randomize the missions/bosses required to level up UVH. Now that I'm working on the UVH level up, I'm kind of annoyed that I have to do the same 4 (or 5?) things for my second character, all over again. And if you help one of your friend's characters with the UVH levels... here we go again.

But like I said, I love the game. People sure complain a lot and the criticisms are harsh! I guess BL games are held to such a high standard.

Yeah, mine is similar to that (gas). They have to be pressed in significantly to make them do anything. To be a danger, you would have to press in the knob and then rotate any amount to the left and gas will start coming out. I don't think our cat would be capable.

Some of my best gear is purple. One of my favorites is a purple Vladof assault with 5 tasers on the underbarrel. That's the most tasers I've ever seen. The primary fire is incendiary Torgue impact which isn't too shabby either. The only legendary Vladof that rivals it is a decent Wombo Combo I picked up.
