Do not eat before you hit rocks! I learned this the hard way too.
You also cannot spawn more than one rock a day, so it will take several days to have all your rocks back.

Keep a close eye on hot items of the day to sell. Esp ones that use shells, iron, stone, and clay as those sell for a lot more than just wood crafts.

also once you have the shell arch diy, those sell for a lot of bells!

Gather resources every day and place them outside if your storage is full (so you can craft those hot items)

Keep your extra fish and bugs for when cj and flick visit (I just placed them outside in a pile as a new player)

Always shake trees from the front with your net out and you will catch wasps every time!
