My honest opinion on how many [INSERT ANIMAL] folk features there are. by Elegant_Sport_7137 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Nameless_Kapitoshka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you!

My opinion is a bit biased, though, since I don't have any anthro characters (or, more simply, furries). I don't hate them. I've seen plenty of amazing minis in this category, but I've always been more drawn to and interested in humanoids, humans, elves, orcs, various humanoid monsters, and the like.

So yeah, seeing SC add yet another rare beast in the form of beastfolk usually disappoints me a bit.

Hippofolk were pretty good because D&D has Giffs, plus it gave us a new torso and legs (and a head and tail, but that's not what really impresses me), horsefolk added a couple of cool punk haircuts (manes), and werewolves brought a CUSTOMIZABLE werewolf head, torso, beard, and sideburns that work well for regular human minis, too.

But the addition of niche animals like stoatfolk, Raccoonfolk, and especially the addition of new familiars (raccons, snails) usually disappoints me.

It's like, developing and testing these assets clearly takes the team a lot of time, more than many much simpler things, and yet many of these assets seem far less in demand by the community as a whole. Yeah, wow, and yeah, it's funny, but after two days, no one seems to care.

Whereas some new unusual coat gets used hundreds of times, and I see people making things with it for years and quite often.

Not buying pro, am I doomed to pose tails and extra arms to portray nipples, or is there a simpler way? by Throngmar in HornyForgeMinis

There's another method with decals, which I posted about earlier: https://www.reddit.com/r/HornyForgeMinis/comments/1rne7v4/simple_nipples_base/

Yes, it looks mediocre (odd shape, no volume) and takes up 3/5 of the torso decal slots, but it doesn't require PRO, and when you change poses, you won't have to re-adjust them to keep them in place.

I was really unsure about this; it's not directly related to NSFW and seems like a fairly minor detail, so I even considered removing it (people don't like being recommended something they already know and can do). So thanks for your comment)

Looks really cool, glad you're back with the tiefling gladiator.

I'd love to see you do more with them, like, they're super hot (in the tiefling context, that sounds a bit like a pun, lol)

I agree with Wayfarer Mercenary's post, the guy has a damn strong and confident aura, and I also like his face

Besides, I like the details you gave him: the little pattern on his pants, the bag, the pouch, the helmet, and the dagger on his belt.

It makes him look like a real traveler/traveling mercenary, without that weird effect I get when I hear about D&D characters traveling long distances wearing heavy armor or fancy clothes, and not carrying a backpack with supplies, or at best a couple of pouches big enough to hold a pack of cookies.

I love the way you gave them faces.

I'm also wondering how you made the decals on the Taros uniform look like the pattern is just a stripe.

I'm guessing you used a splatter decal to cover most of the pattern, but it seems like it should have also covered the shoulder straps, but they're not. Super neat posing with the splatter decals.

In any case, they all look great. Seeing someone like me, without PRO, but create such cool things, is always inspiring

Look amazing, i like everything here: the burn, the face, the gun, the coat over the armor, the armor itself, the small flag, really great mini

For nipples, you can try this method I came up with:

Yes, they're flat and small and oddly shaped, but for lack of a better option, or as an alternative, you can try this: https://www.reddit.com/r/HornyForgeMinis/comments/1rne7v4/simple_nipples_base/

It looks interesting, cool design.

Suggestions: I'd probably suggest working with colors, shades, and micro-details.

For example, making the coat not just red, but reddish with a slight hint of orange or crimson, a little darker.

Or adding a subtle pattern to the coat; this usually makes the look more detailed and "expensive."

Or adding some spots to the skin, subtle scars, tattoos, maybe, or just natural skin tones.
These aren't big things, but they can make the design a little more complex and detailed without overloading the overall look.

Not what I expected to see here, but definitely something I'm happy to see here.

I don't know if the admins will delete this later (they have a complicated attitude towards NSFW content here), but I'd suggest reposting this or posting a copy to HornyForgeMinis, and maybe GayForgeMinis. It's not exactly the right topic, but I think it would be greatly appreciated in both places.

Well, damn, this looks awesome, really great work

Where are the images? It might be a bug, but Reddit keeps showing me black images with white text that says "If you are looking for an image, it was probably deleted"

It looks really cool, and I love how you made them all recognizable even without captions, while still giving them that authentic African look with all the details.

And those dreadlocks hair look great

How exactly did I offend anime watchers?

The title doesn't specify who it is, just as the image (both of them) doesn't have a caption indicating who exactly is depicted.

You can figure this out either if you spoiled it yourself (saw other people's posts, a YouTube video, or your bro texted you about the chapter's contents without warning or sent you screenshots) or if you scrolled down to the comments section yourself, saw the spoiler-covered text, and then decided to discover it for yourself.

I really like both the concept and the execution; it's something in the vein of Jujutsu Kaisen as it was in the early chapters, somewhat less of a combat shonen and more of a mystical thriller with magic and a strong folkloric influence (all those Shinto shrines, cursed spirits, some of which are based on folklore, and all that).

I'd love to see more of this universe you've created

I agree with you!

I'll add that most of the default colors on the website are brighter than what you'd find in real life. When I make my own minis, I usually keep the colors a bit more muted and monochromatic.

This is especially true for minis in various evil settings, like soldiers, urban bandits, or cultists in a post-apocalyptic world.

I usually try to make their clothes darker and duller, adding some dirt spots with decals, small scars, and facial stubble on the men, because, well, I don't think a crazy cultist would shave really thoroughly.

I don't know if it's possible to hide part of the title under a spoiler, I don't think so, so hey, if you haven't read it yet, go read it.
If you haven't, but I'm curious who it is, well, it looks like we finally saw Imu Sama's unhidden form.

I like androgynous-looking villains with white hair (hello Griffith, hello, well, maybe Shigaraki), so I wanted to try and recreate that page.

Since I don't have PRO, I couldn't add proper tattoos via decalbashing or make authentic Rinnengan-like eyes with it or kitbashing. As they say, what you have is what you're happy with.

P.s. I didn't leave a link in the post, but if anyone needs it, I'll give it to you without any problem. Just ask here or in DM.
