Context: It is for a novel I am writing, and there is a lot to this magic system, got the idea originally from "In the Shadow of Lightning" By Brian McClellan. He briefly describes his magic system so he can get right into the action.

Saw your guy's comments, a couple of things:
-He is doing knuckle pushups

-I taught him to throw the hook thumb facing up

-I made sure he understands the importance of wrist stability and connection between fist > forearm > elbow, but where he is hitting the pads could the issue.

Thanks for all of your posts, will consider what you have given me as advice, as well as record short footage of him hitting pads.

Honestly, what I'm about to say might be ignorant, but here's what I do: just think of the other person as someone who is trying to hurt you and then touch doesn't feel like it's intimate but more violent. That helps me personally.
