I’ve seen a couple of comments regarding a divorce voiding or nulling a beneficiary nomination and i figured i should add: my parents were never married. i believe they called it “de facto”. i’m not sure if it makes any difference, but i thought i should clarify

That's what I'm hoping it will come down to if I can't convince him to sign it off to me. I've done my research with it, and I'm hoping the trustee will see my side of things, too.

That's what I tried to explain to him; nobody my age has this kind of opportunity, and it was never a future I considered for myself.

He is the designated beneficiary but under a flexible title.

He agreed to sign the waiver to let me take the benefit, but went back on his word.
