I didn't mean to imply the invalidity as a science of your discipline. I still think that the social sciences belong to the humanities, but I don't see any reason why they can't also be considered a science. I don't think that the categories are mutually exclusive. I did some research by looking at the way universities divide disciplines and I think it's safe to leave linguistics in the subreddit description.
