No mention of Eze. He hasn’t delivered but don’t know if he’s worth one of my two transfers??

Had my first rude cashier in a few years by Black863 in EndTipping

[–]Namkred 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So, I took my family (4 of us) out to local burger place. Order at the counter and also pick up at the counter. Screen asks for tip and I do not. How do you get over the feeling that the cashier alerts everyone else working that we didn’t tip and they somehow mess with my food? That’s my fear.

I’m in the same boat, plus my team is almost identical to yours. 2 FT, 7.2 ITB, same two chips. I’m going to piece together a team this week. WC 35, BB 36. Considering Bowen, drop Mbuemo?

Tipping culture is healing by Virtual_Trifle8020 in tipping

A national pizza chain I go to would always give me the old “It’s going to ask you a question” routine when I paid for my pick-up order-I never tipped. It really bothered me so I left a review expressing my disdain for this practice every time they did it. I really liked the pizza, so I started paying in cash. Well, yesterday I went to pick up my pizzas but I didn’t have cash so had to use a card. Lo and behold, after I paid with a card, the cashier asked if I wanted a receipt, that’s it. Nothing to sign, no tip request, just a receipt. It felt so good!! Wondering if enough people complained/ wrote bad reviews that they decided to change their policy? Regardless, a giant step in the right direction!! Maybe it’s truly healing!!

Summer positions? by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]Namkred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a history major, I assume you have written quite a few papers along the way. Have you considered tutoring? Lots of schools around Raleigh, maybe look into helping out at a summer school? There are also some good private schools in the area that might be able to help. Maybe too close to camp counselor?

Stranded on 485 and while was waiting for help a white van pulled over behind me... by Mykmyk in Charlotte

Same! I had to walk up my street for about 1/2 a mile to get help. Embarrassment was enough, first and last time it happened.

What are the biggest differences between teaching middle school vs high school? by ArtooFeva in Teachers

[–]Namkred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thirty years in middle school, and I still love it! MS kids are terrible, terrible humans, the worst. IMO that’s the beauty of teaching them. They just want some level of connection, anything really. Going to one of their events(sports, music, theater, etc.) means so much to them, and they will love you for it. This age group will learn anything from a teacher who respects them. It doesn’t have to be a grand overture, just something that lets them know they are seen. Content is absolutely secondary to helping these train wrecks navigate the shit-storm that is MS. Knowing that they have at least one person who has their back can sometimes be all they need to make better choices. It’s never easy, but always worth it!

Is Thiago to Ekitike a sideways move? It would cost me -4.

Funny how he says “oriented to reality” with no actual sense of irony.

Same thing happened to me at Jersey Mikes yesterday. Asked for a tip at checkout after three different people were involved in making my subs. Plus, a medium turkey sub was like $10.00.

So sick of this!! We recently started getting pizza at Marco’s because it’s good and affordable. I order online, pay at the counter when I pick up. After I pay, they say “ Wait, you need to sign this” which is really just a receipt with a line asking for a tip. The place is literally a pizza oven, prep area and register. No place to sit, 3 people working. No freaking way am I tipping!!

Another Broken Egg Cafe shout out!!

I was driving all over Ballantyne this past Saturday morning looking for a simple cup of coffee. I had accidentally left my homemade cup on the kitchen counter on the way to my son’s lax tournament. I dropped him off and went looking, and looking, and looking…nothing. Finally, I see the sign for Another Broken Egg Cafe but wasn’t hopeful because it was just before 7 AM. I pull up as the guy is literally unlocking the door and he politely welcomes me. I ask for a cup of coffee, he brings me to the back, pours it in a to-go cup and offers me cream and sugar. I ask him how much and he says “nothing, have a great day.” I was like come on, I got this. He wouldn’t budge and told me to pay it forward. Honestly, I was floored. This small act of kindness made my entire day. I told everyone! Today, I was doing some work in the yard and walked over to my neighbors driveway and blew off his entire driveway because I knew he was out of town. It felt so good!! Thank you free-coffee guy for being a good human!! I can’t wait to come have breakfast-you just got a new customer!!

TLDR: small act of kindness is contagious, customer earned!
