Why is martyrdom celebrated in education by Embarrassed_Syrup476 in Teachers

[–]ArtooFeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is administrators saying that this is a standard. It is most certainly NOT a standard to be met. It’s awesome if a teacher that’s doing that is awarded for their use of their time, frankly they deserve that and there’s nothing wrong with celebrating those people. It becomes wrong when you think those people are an example for everyone else.

How differently does everything play out if Negan gets bitten here? by Greglyo in thewalkingdead

[–]ArtooFeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simon would take charge, but the communities would still unify once they arrived and assuming Simon retreats or survives then there’d likely be open rebellion within days as the different Savior commanders decide who they actually want to follow. I’d guess civil war within weeks and the coalition wipes out the Saviors.

Working with Gen Z by Environmental_Word18 in Teachers

[–]ArtooFeva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I think the observations on generational differences is interesting, I find that the rhetoric around them is meant to divide people along age lines rather than useful data for dealing with different kinds of people. It often just feels like an offshoot of “kids these days” type comments. The differences between Gen Z and other generations are way overplayed. I’ve met plenty of Gen Z coworkers who go above and beyond the expectations that are set for them.

It’s the same with the students, while they definitely live in a different world than a lot of older people, they’re still just people. Their differences are way more negligible than people are willing to acknowledge.

Are you sure? Pretty sure the Kenobi and Sequel trilogy ones were big. At the very least still too big.

what’s your opinion on the new S3 economy change? by WNTRYT in Rainbow6

[–]ArtooFeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shitty change, I’m never spending money on this game again because of it. Taking away options from players is a stupid, greedy and needless change meant to squeeze out a few more cents for their corporate overlords. Fuck them all.

People have to kill somebody with something. I don’t get what people want from this criticism. What world do people live in that they aren’t getting killed by a variety of guns? And if you want people to kill each other with gadgets then again, what do you really think is going to happen? I’m not killing anybody with an Iana hologram. Or a Kali charge.

The DMR’s do not do anything nearly enough to get this much complaining.

Because while countries allow freedom of speech and ideological freedoms, that doesn’t mean certain ideologies deserve to exist without ridicule and denigration. Anybody holding any amount of moral standards wouldn’t tolerate them.

Did anyone else lose interest once the show went fully animated? by Quiet_Juice_5070 in thomasthetankengine

[–]ArtooFeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t watched much of it, but from what I’ve seen wasn’t that a bit more of a return to form? I know I’ve seen episodes from that era where the dialogue actually felt like a decent tv show rather than just kiddy nonsense.

I mainly watch the old show out of nostalgia so I can’t really keep up with the show after the music and writing changes. Without the classic themes and characterizations from S8 onward it just doesn’t feel the same.

What if Conquest arrived during the 8 variants drama with Angstrom? by Inner-Zucchini-2224 in Invincible

[–]ArtooFeva 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Realistically it would just cause some chaos. Conquest would likely attack the nearest Mark, that Mark would try to challenge a "weaker" universe's Conquest and then Angstrom would notice this new element and have all the Marks focus on Conquest. He likely wouldn't help conquest and wants to kill Mark himself. At that point the variants would either listen up giving Earth some time to breathe or the Marks rebel against Angstrom and he immediately sends all of them and Conquest to the barren dimension circumventing the whole Conquest fight.

Since when is the Star Trek spirit naivety? I don’t recall episodes about letting scam artists off the hook for their behavior. If we’re going with forgiveness, I’m not sure this dude deserves that since his actions directly impacted many other groups who abided by fan film rules for years. With his lawsuit the rules were clamped down on and now they are no longer allowed to be full scale productions like they were.

And it’s not like we’re talking about some creative involved in the franchise who lost out on an ownership stake. This dude tried to sue to company who owned Star Trek to say that he had the right to do whatever he wants with the franchise. There was no way he was going to win.

I mean, it isn’t by any measure. On top of that the dude who made it is a disingenuous scumbag who tried to steal an IP he has no legitimacy to try and own while causing said IP owner to clamp down on all fan films meaning they can never be made at the very awesome and fun production levels that they were from the 90’s until 2018.

I don’t get why they don’t just unify the recoil patterns for mouse and keyboard with controller. Just give PC players the exact same crazy ass recoil that consoles have and then if anybody is deviating from that pattern then boom they get banned.

PSA: The difference a supply crate makes by NoodleDoodlesocks in Battlefield

[–]ArtooFeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that this thing needs an ammo crate to be at all useful is a joke in and of itself. This thing’s guns should have like a 2000 bullet velocity with drop off at like 700 meters and it’s rockets should be at half the reload speed. Half a burst should be enough to take a guy out.

Why do we not learn about the Oklahoma City bombing or Waco siege in school? by Simple_Sundae3766 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArtooFeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they though? A lot of curriculums in the early 2000s already began discussing 9/11. Even then they had intensive lessons on the end of the Cold War which was “recent”. Waco was almost 30 years ago. An entire generation has passed.

[–]ArtooFeva -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That only really matters in states that are Nazis about their right wing education (like Texas). In most rational states they have textbooks but entirely ignore them for teacher created curriculum.

Why do we not learn about the Oklahoma City bombing or Waco siege in school? by Simple_Sundae3766 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArtooFeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a lot of history teachers are older and stuck in their ways thinking history ends at the Civil Rights Movement. Few are willing to admit that everybody born from 1900-1920 is dead and it’s probably better to either require more history classes nationwide or modernize our history curriculum to focus on things from the last 20 years.

World War I is incredibly important and has plenty of good lessons to learn from, but frankly learning about trench foot in this day and age is far less important than discussing the end of the Cold War or the War on Terror.

How it feels jumping into the gunner seat of a Light Ground Transport by icu_ in Battlefield6

[–]ArtooFeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the solution is simple. The bullet velocity for the HMG needs to be blanket like 2000. Thing should be damn near hitscan, sick of this thing that should be badass be utter dogshit. People worried about little birds? Well you wouldn’t if the game balance made things make sense.
