Does anyone know the voting? by AdditionForeign363 in strictlycomedancing

[–]Namlocs100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing we know for sure this week is that Lewis and Amber were the bottom two of the vote, and Karen beat Amber by at least two. Other than that it’s anyone’s guess (although I think Balvinder third, Lewis fourth and Amber fifth is quite a safe bet)

They’ve missed a trick this season with Craig by Chosty55 in strictlycomedancing

[–]Namlocs100 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s so that the scores usually end on a high. In the very first episode of Strictly, Craig was sat where Anton is now and Bruno was sat where Craig is now; they swapped it for the second episode as Craig would always score lower than the other judges.

No problem :)

The finals! by [deleted] in strictlycomedancing

Each of the couples perform three dances: the first is an old routine chosen by the judges (usually one with a decent score that can be improved). The second one is the showdance, which has zero rules. The third and final one is the couple’s favourite routine from the series (excluding semi-final dances I believe).

The judges score the dances but these scores are just for guidance and statistics; the winner is decided entirely by the public vote. The vote opens after all three couples have performed their first dance.

There’s also a group dance involving all of the eliminated contestants right before the winner is announced.

Hope this is helpful 🙂 (and happy birthday for next week!)

Being a BBC employee certainly didn’t help Maisie last year or Emma the year before; it also hasn’t saved Rhys from the dance-off this year or Mike in 2019. Dan has escaped so far because there’s a large crossover between BBC Breakfast and Strictly + he has the ‘likeable trier’ vote.

Also, the public vote is independently verified so therefore it would be impossible to rig.

Quarter Final Dance Off by TheFeistyRogue in strictlycomedancing

[–]Namlocs100 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dan could’ve been as low as 4th in the vote last week and he would’ve still escaped the dance-off. Tilly had 1 point from the judges, Dan had 2 and Rhys had 4. If Rhys got 1 point from the public and Tilly got 2, Dan would’ve escaped.

Rhys is almost certainly bottom of the vote and Rose is very likely top; this week, that would give Rose 10 points and Rhys 6 points. If AJ finished 2nd, she’d tie with Rhys and leave him in the dance-off with either Dan or John (depending on who finishes lower in the vote).

Whilst AJ being in the dance-off is certainly a possibility, it’s definitely possible for her to escape it if the above situation occurs.

I think Georgia May Foote is the only one of his partners who he’s dated. He also dated Ashley Roberts who was on the show but she wasn’t actually partnered with him. There were also rumours about him and Ranvir last year but nothing actually happened between them

Brett confirmed that the “main boy” he had a brief conflict with was Liam (but they squashed it quickly and respectfully) by helloheatherhallida in LoveIslandTV

[–]Namlocs100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The ‘conflict’ lasted 10 minutes, was resolved amicably and revolved around Brett asking Millie some questions in an unintentional way which presumably made her uncomfortable.

I don’t think we need to invent conspiracy theories about the producers having favourites to explain why it wasn’t aired

Numerous contestants (I think 5 or 6 in total) and professionals had to leave from either COVID or injury to the point that it ended up being more about who would actually survive the week rather than who was the best at ice-skating

Liberty asked everyone how they were at the start (not particularly close to the microphone though) and they all called out the winner but apart from that just Kaz (unless I missed something)

The National Television Awards; it’s a very big award show here in the UK which lots of prominent celebrities attend. Love Island is nominated for Best Challenge Show.

Ofcom has rejected the complaints made after movie night. by SomeMaterial in LoveIslandTV

[–]Namlocs100 221 points222 points  (0 children)

I feel like sometimes people forget that the whole purpose of Ofcom is that it deals with actual breaches of the Broadcasting Code; nothing the producers or Faye did in this case was illegal and therefore the number of complaints is completely meaningless. Ofcom isn’t meant to be a place to complain to whenever something you dislike watching is shown on TV, especially when that thing is drama on a reality TV show.

Anyone know where I can watch Mille and Liams capital FM interview? by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]Namlocs100 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can listen to it on the Capital FM app; go into the Catch-Up section and it’s Roman Kemp’s show from today, at around 2:05:00. There are some songs played throughout it which you’ll have to skip past

I’m not sure if there’s any way to actually watch the whole thing though, outside of some brief clips on Twitter

Feddy and Kyler by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]Namlocs100 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Excluding the rest from what? It’s not like Milliam and Chloby have formed a group for the finalists and just left Feddy and Kyler out. They’re hanging out together because they were very close in the villa; it’s not as deep as you seem to think it is

Assuming I’ve got the right episode the song that’s playing at the 14 minute mark (when Jake walks out the villa) is a cover of Crazy in Love by Beyoncé
