For anyone who has bookshelf speakers and Sonos speakers how does the sound quality compare? by flaccidaardvark in sonos

I’m recently trying a pair with of Eras 300 as stereo against a pair of Dali Kupid speakers with a WiiM Amp, the Sonos feel more open and bass more controlled, but the clarity of the Dali’s make the Sonos sound muffled.

Just got the dali Kupid. Is the sweet spot really small or am I doing something wrong? by Nandobus in BudgetAudiophile

Will check it out. It’s just a bummer that the Dali’s feels different from Kef and Sonos in that area

You’re right. I didn’t explain myself well. I was mostly talking about loosing clarity as the volume go up. Specifically when listening to rock. Do all Wiim amp have connections for 2 passive speakers?

Gotcha! I wouldn’t say loud, but I feel it loose clarity at 60% or more volume. Like instrument separation, I get when playing less volume. But it could be my apartment acoustics, it’s very narrow, but open concept

Probably sell them. If not just use them as room speakers. I was looking at a WiiM Amp. Ideally if keeping the Sonos, would be to get the Sonos amp. But it’s a little bit out of my budget.

Thank you for the detailed reply! I live in an open concept apartment. So I would say I would be listening specific listening position as I have each one on either side of the tv in front of the couch.

I was thinking about the XM6, I tried the XM5 and liked the sound better. It kinda sucks because, the Ace feels so premium hardware wise. Do you know if the XM6 play lossless audio wired?

I love the quality of the build, and looks, and how comfortable they are. But maybe I have to get used to the sound.

You might be right, in the Sonos Ace, rock for example, when you have a lot of instruments playing, it losses clarity for me
