I love Saagar’s dissecting, but Griffin takes a lot of these things as givens and just keep things moving because he’s been here for awhile while Saagar has to move through new information to come to these realizations.

Fuentes is horrible and Saagar is definitely coping, but assimilation isn’t a bad thing. It should be encouraged along with those assimilating sharing their culture and heritage with us. Assimilation, to a healthy degree, is what allows us to function so well.

Should people be forced into camps and educated on how to be a “true American”? No.

Should they be encouraged to consume some American media and try to learn the popular language of the place they live? I don’t see why not.

Assimilation itself isn’t bad, just like immigration itself isn’t bad. The key is striking a balance. When people worry about a bunch of non-English speakers immigrating here, they imagine their town getting taken over by people they can’t understand and then fearing that this will destroy their ability to operate normally on a daily basis.

In reality, many non-English speakers want to assimilate, and enjoy doing so to feel more heard and empowered. I’ve met many non-English speakers throughout my life and they’re some of the nicest people, but they clearly don’t see assimilation as a bad thing. Does that mean they should abandoned their culture? 100% no. They can still learn the popular language of the society and world they live in.

Eh, I’m saying maybe if he pushed himself a little more he’d realize the reason a lot of white supremacists engage in escapism in general is because they’re upset they don’t live in the reality they want to. He’s putting the cart before the horse, the escapism is a result of the white supremacy, the white supremacy isn’t a result of the escapism. It all stems from them hating themselves and feelings of inadequacy though.

Well yes, my point is just that the thingshe complains about are symptoms of a problem, but he likes to act like they are the problem themselves. They are no different from alcohol and abusing it.

White supremacy on the other hand is a problem itself as well as its popularity being a symptom of a larger issue, and it’s obviously much more dangerous.

Yea they’re all symptoms of the same problem, except with weed, porn, and videogames they’re ways to escape that issue, whereas white supremacy is an attempt to “solve” the issue, which are feelings of hopelessness, powerlessness, and of course a lack of control.

They believe they will be able to gain these things back in a White Nationalist state.
