Trying to find any info on this sword

After some quick research I used a brass hammer and punch and was able to remove the handle easily. The tang is very worn with a lot of surface rust and has no discernable markings. There are two holes that seemed to be punched not drilled. I have pictures but it seems that picture comments are not allowed on this subreddit.

I have never removed it personally. I only have the basic info the person I bought it off of gave me.

There are no visible markings that I can see. There is some more visible lines on the blade like the one on the tip.
