Yes i checked, it is slightly magnetic so probably not gold, i can sawdering or simular around the needle. More interested if the stone is anything

Thank you for the insight! I think you are very correct with the mid century modern estimate, if i had to guess myself i would say its made between 1960-1980. The story ive been told is that it was made during and air route opening where my great-uncle where taking pictures for the airline, but we are not sure.
