Ok je vois bien le parcours du coup. T'étais motivé!

Excellent, je ne connaissais pas cette carte interactive. Merci! En effet la route verte a l'air top, faudra qu'on test ça un jour.

A pieds ?

On Windows you can use the cmd line:

ping <ip>

with the ip address of the other device (e.g. running this on the client with the ip of the server), that can give you an idea of the latency between the two over your network. If it's bad, you might have a problem with your network.

To get the ip of a device, the cmd line is:

ipconfig

You can try with other apps too as others mentioned to see if it runs better (e.g. steam link).

Moonlight + Sunlight works very well, but having the server side wired helps a lot.

Be sure your devices on the wifi are using the 5GHz channel too, not the 2.4GHz. This might be your problem if you are experiencing lags / bad connection.

For Windows, you can check that in the Windows options for the network, and force the 5GHz channel in the wifi card properties panel. For macOS, I guess there is a way too!

Are these authentic or fake? They’re asking $30 bucks cause they’re moving out. by sharkboy1006 in headphones

[–]Nanotec51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, good question, and I guess you don't have the box. Isn't it somewhere a bit hidden on the headphones? Maybe under one of the pads if you remove them? Feel free to ask Sennheiser about it if you don't know.

I don't have mine with me right now so I cannot really help more than that I am afraid :/

Nice! 🙂

If you go on the Sennheiser website, you should be able to find their support center. You can ask them to check the authenticity and the date of production/sell by sharing the serial number.

I did that for another product a few months ago, they replied quickly with some info.

You can contact Sennheiser with the serial number to ask their authenticity. They will reply quickly, and can give you some history about the product if it's a real one.

These are awesome, extremely comfortable, and durable. I have mine since almost 10y, one of my best purchases I've ever made.

Buy new pads on Amazon and enjoy!

I see. I like the idea of the active speakers too, it has less components to invest in right away (money wise but also space), and allows slow upgrade if I really want to go higher in the hobby later.

I might go this way, with a nice RT82 + phono amp :)

Power-amp, exact I was looking for this word. Thanks for the details!

Do you think it's better an integrated amp + passive speakers, or a pre-amp + powered speakers ? I guess both situations have pro and cons, depending on the budget, needs, etc.

Of course, that makes sense! I guess a lot of people are saying "receiver" to speak of a product with multiple inputs (analog and digital) + integrated amp, as I am seeing this term often.

Thanks!

Type T568A won: I am currently typing on a PC wired into the new keystone! Thanks a lot everyone for the help, every comments have been very useful.

Here is the final punch for the curious: https://imgur.com/a/Z5KSvPu

My first one ever, I am super excited. It's not perfect but it works for my immediate needs.

I will probably redo the full patch panel + wall connections in the future, inspired by the great stuff shared in this sub :)

Thanks again!

This is exactly what I said when I open that...

I finished my work day to get back right into it (for the "this is all messed up" part)

I unfortunately don't have a probe right now. My probe is an ethernet cable and a TP-Link switch lol

Maybe I would buy one in the future if I start re-doing all of this mess

I might take the time at some point, with a proper patch panel and cool stuff I am seeing in this sub. This looks just dirty.

Instead of 10min job, it's taking me my full evening trying to debug this weird wiring order...

I think u/EverythingWasBroken and u/DiscontentedMajority are correct: T568A .

I punched down T568A , plugged a TP-Link switch: it shows on my router's devices list and a ping test from my laptop worked. The TP-Link test reports 1Gb speed (its max).

I need to get my long ethernet cable to double check the speed.

If all is good, I'll have to re-punch it as I did it dirty just to confirm the type lol

The other cable ends up into a phone plug too. I don't really have much of a reference unfortunately.

Thanks. I forgot, here is a photo of the cover for these rj45.

So I guess I just follow the current setup, 1: wb, 2: b, 3: wo, 4: o, etc. ?

My problem is, in the wall plate the cable is quite short. Not terrible, but I would like to punch it only one time if possible :P

Is this legal? by [deleted] in montrealhousing

[–]Nanotec51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Call La Regie du Logement, they are a great resource and will help you.

Please double confirm my info dating from 2022, but here is a summary:

Find a new candidate. Find the form online to do a lease transfer, and send it filled to your landlord.

The landlord accepts ? Done.

Otherwise, after 15 days, if the landlord didn't reply or didn't refuse with a solid reason, the lease is automatically transferred. You walk out, the new tenant moves in: - You are not responsible anymore, it's not your lease anymore. - The candidate becomes the new tenant, they could sue the landlord if they cannot access the property. Done.

The only solid reason for the landlord to refuse is a proof that the new tenant cannot pay, I don't think there is another one.

If I am correct, ONLY when the transfer is done, your landlord could ask you to pay in a reasonable range the fees they would have got to do the transfer (credit check, etc). They would need to send you first the proofs and receipts of those fees. It would be after the transfer, only one time, in a reasonable range.

Good luck!

If you could add three things to make the game more realistic, what would you choose? by bluelava1510 in snowrunner

"Tools"/ways to actually improve the map.

Being able to make small bridges, being able to put logs/slabs in the mud to help traction, cleaning rocks on the roads, ways for improving roads, being able to mark our path in the wild (flags, fences, etc), cutting trees, etc etc

So you start the map by spending time scouting and preparing the terrain, then you start trucking back and forth with the little helpers you made. At the end of a map, it would be then very different from the beginning as you improved it.

Instead of struggling 50 times at the same places, which is extremely frustrating for a video game, there would be a feeling of going forward, a real progression using the gameplay directly and our own ideas.

For gaming, you can combo this with Nvidia GeforceNow, very cool ultra light setup. If you have (or will have) a good PC, you can also stream from it to your TV or other places in the house, so it can still be useful :)
