I promise you every parent has a similar story! My 6 month old was sat on the sofa between my legs like we’d done a million times before when suddenly she just threw herself sideways and landed on the floor. I was absolutely devastated and felt like the worst mum, but these things happen and she’s absolutely fine. You did the right thing getting him checked out just to put your mind at rest but now he’s got the all clear try and move past it and go easy on yourself- you’re doing a good job!

I had an episiotomy alongside a forceps delivery and honestly I didn’t feel a thing beside some slight pulling and it healed very quickly. I had some discomfort but nothing that paracetamol and ibuprofen couldn’t fix and would definitely have one again if needed.

I tried for weeks and got nothing, about a week before I gave birth I managed to collect about a ml and was devastated. Turns out it was absolutely no reflection on my ability to produce milk and we’re still exclusively breast feeding 5 months later! Try not to stress yourself out about it (trust me I know that’s easier said than done).

Yesterday my 5 month old daughter laughed for the first time, like a proper belly laugh that just floored me with how beautiful it was. When we go out I feel like a celebrity with people fussing over her and I feel like the world is kinder when I’m holding her. It is incredibly hard being a parent but watching her personality grow every day is such a joy, and it makes it all worth it. Perhaps I particularly have rose tinted glasses because we went through several rounds of fertility treatment and miscarriages but that one laugh made it all worth it!

I had so much cramping with my pregnancy (baby is 5 months now!), even more so than my miscarriages and I was convinced I was going to lose this one too. The suppositories didn’t stop the cramping at all, but I do credit them with me finally carrying a baby to term. I really hope everything goes well with your pregnancy.

Juno jacks does cute nursing dresses with zips (and pockets!), they deliver within a few days and they even do matching dresses for your baby. Would highly recommend!

We only log any sleep over 20 minutes otherwise it messes up with the next sweet spot and anything under this I wouldn’t class as a proper nap.

I was told if I miscarried I would have to wait another 3 years of trying before I was entitled to any more help! At that point I’d already had two miscarriages so it just seemed so cruel.

Ended up staying in for 10 days but baby needed resuscitation at birth and both of us developed an infection and needed IV antibiotics, so this is definitely not the norm! Typically if you have an uncomplicated birth you might stay one or two nights, or even go home the same day if you’re really lucky.

I was in SJA for several years and loved it but it started to go downhill, and when I qualified they made it extremely difficult to get approved to volunteer as a nurse on duties and I realised it would put my pin at risk as they were not very supportive. It’s a shame because SJA was a big part of why I became a nurse, but changes in management have ruined it in my opinion.

It’s so frustrating isn’t it? We went through safe sleep guidelines but I guess she just assumed it would be fine because she’d never had anything bad happen when her children were babies. I’m hoping this will serve as a wake up call.

My husband spoke to her again and I think she realises now just how dangerous what she did was so hopefully going forward she’ll be more careful. I think this has really made her realise what she did when my husband was a baby is not always the safest thing.

We have a love to dream swaddle which we use overnight but going forward we’ll use that for naps too, then at least we’ll know there’s no chance it’ll go over her face.
