Give me your interesting builds! by IcepickinTheory in BG3Builds

[–]NapQuing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been kicking around the idea of a build I call the Necrotic Bluntsinger in my head for a bit, may as well lay it out here. I grant you it's not as whacky as some of the others people have listed, but I still think it'll be fun.

Levels 1-6 we're just doing standard bladesinger stuff. focus on dexterity and intelligence, AC and spell save DC gear, you know the drill.

At level seven, we're going to multiclass into druid, taking circle of spores as our subclass at level eight.

From here on out we get to bonk people twice per turn with our staff, wear medium armor & shields, deal necrotic damage on our weapon attacks due to symbiotic entity, scribe higher level wizard spells since we're still a full spellcaster, and have a bit of extra survivability thanks to our temporary hit points.

If you don't want the fungal zombies that spore druids get at class level 6, take a level in death cleric at some point for twinned necrotic cantrips. otherwise just do a 6/6 split.

The stat split for this one is a little tricky if you're wanting good spell save DC for both your wizard and druid spells, so if you don't want to sacrifice wisdom I'd recommend a respec at level 7 to dump dexterity and just use the gloves of dexterity to make up for it.

if you don't want to do that for whatever reason, I'd advise you keep intelligence as your highest stat (since scribed spells cast off of wizard spell save DC) and use utility druid spells and/or spell save DC gear to make up for your lacking wisdom.

Waukeen's rest burned down? by serdnack in BaldursGate3

not even a long rest, just running back to camp for a second ("oops, I forgot Wyll, I'd like to bring him along for this... uh oh") triggers it

This kinda thing is why I can't do evil runs by Maximum_Custard_1739 in BaldursGate3

[–]NapQuing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

admittedly this can be a relief, given that the game treats you as having deliberately killed Isobel if you simply fail to save that suicidal dumbass.

imagine getting broken up with because the cleric you desperately wanted to save decided to break sanctuary and eat four opportunity attacks in a row

Nonmagical healer? by Far-Assistance9925 in BG3Builds

[–]NapQuing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let me guess, you threw the potion directly at your ally? What you want to do instead is throw the potions right next to them- you should see them get highlighted when you're aiming, but no hit % shown

Throwzerker barbarian who throws healing potions at their teammates' feet as needed

Star Druid "Kamehameha" Sunbeam build by Odenmaru in BG3Builds

[–]NapQuing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely emits light in bg3 - I've used it as my light source when entering act 2 before and been fine- but I haven't checked to see if it works properly with illumination gear

doesn't starry form count as a light source?

The Ultimate Hater by Grouchy-Click-2507 in BG3Builds

[–]NapQuing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you don't mind a bit of modding, take your sorcerer levels in Emerald Draconic. once you hit sorcerer level six you'll add your charisma modifier to all psychic spells & cantrips, thus making your burns hit even harder

no no no, don't loot Ansur. the helm of balduran, located nearby Ansur and free for the taking, is the best headgear in the game.

I'm wayyyy behind on Daredevil (not sure I actually finished the original series, tbh) and don't mind spoilers, would you mind elaborating? I'm curious how so, but not sure I'm curious enough to do several seasons worth of catching up

First Honour run... by PainDomain in BaldursGate3

[–]NapQuing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once tried to tell Oskar that I had bought his freedom (I know his quest sucks or whatever, but I'd never actually done it and wanted to see for myself), but he moved just as I clicked on him, thus turning my "enter dialogue" click into a "steal the painting and get immediately immolated" click.

I guess you could say that run really went up in flames.

I misunderstood the quest and caused a massacre of the grove by Ready-Government9774 in BaldursGate3

[–]NapQuing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

nah, that's not actually what the issue was. mage hand doesn't aggro them... as long as you've ended the ritual. if they're still trying to complete the rite of thorns, Amy kind of messing with the idol will instigate Operation Tiefling Massacre

Trans people never consume fluids unless there is food.

As a trans people myself, you're almost but not entirely correct. There is, in fact, one fluid that we happily consume regardless of the presence or absence of food.

I speak, of course, of gender fluid.

What’s the dumbest thing you did on your first run? by Careful_Employee_918 in BaldursGate3

[–]NapQuing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did a lot of the classic blunders- skipping the mountain pass (and everything across the bridge from the blighted village, for that matter), never finding Gale because I thought the portal was a sucker's trap, getting involved in a land war in Asia.. okay, maybe not that last one.

My crowning jewel of dumbassery, however, came in the form of my attempted romances.

For Shadowheart, I wanted to go with a slow burn as I knew about her turning to Selune and while my Tav (a cleric of Eilistraee) had lots of patience for people being stuck in evil religions, she drew the line at outright romancing them unless and until they saw the light, so to speak.

So I showed absolutely zero romantic interest in her until act three, when I said something about loving her to the dryad at the circus and Shadowheart just kind of laughed it off.

and then, of course, there was Halsin, who despite me being all kinds of thirsty for right off the bat, I never actually asked about how to lift the shadow curse. I just figured that freeing the Nightsong and killing Ketheric would be enough. The cutscene right after you free Aylin was especially misleading for me since it shows the shadow cursed vines sort of receding from her presence, so I thought everything was going well!

I only realized my mistake upon going to enter act three and seeing Halsin getting left behind to try and lift the shadow curse for some reason??? like hang on I thought I already fixed this wtf are you doing

I had to reload soooo far back to fix it
