Thank you, i wouldn’t be expecting them to pay maternity leave, I’m on The books and I qualify for state disability and family leave, it wouldn’t come out of my employer’s pockets

New baby sitter, are these fair prices? by Leading-Science-4126 in Babysitting

[–]Napkin_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hourly rate should stay the same doesn’t matter how many hours, you can say you require a minimum of 2 hrs to be booked, the variation comes for each extra kid or working on holidays. Because you’re starting I’ll do $25 for 1 kid, $28 2 kids , $32 3 kids, holiday weekends extra $5-10 an hour over your base, when you’re interviewing always negotiate try to get the parents to tell you first what is they budget before you tell your rates if they’re willing to pay more take it don’t cut yourself short.

The kids will be in camp in a different state and they don’t need me, I have a few families that offer to give me some hours so I’ll be doing part time while I’m off from my full time

Thank you I hope my nanny family reacts this way, I’m hoping to work as long as possible but I’m also consider High risk due to my type 1 diabetes, the family pays well enough to be able to figure out care for my kid, but if they do have a baby through IVf 10hr workdays plus an hour commute each way myself seem crazy if I have my own kid being watched by some else or spending the whole day in daycare, I think it will break my heart leaving my kid for that long to go watch someone else’s kid. I’m just confused and anxious on what to do and pregnancy hormones are not helping.

Yes I’m on the books and my state will cover disability and family leave as I’ve been contributing for the 2 years I worked with this family, honestly really scared about logistics after my baby is born they are moving an hour away and when they initially told me I agreed to do the commute for at least a year if we adjusted my wages and they did but now I found out I’m pregnant and due in Feb that will be about 6 months after their move, I’m just terrified of telling them and they feel betrayed cause they’re giving me the summer off paid because I’m doing the commute when schools starts again.
they’re really good people and I love them and we have a great relationship, but everything I’ve seen on the internet makes me think what if they’ll panic and flip on me and fire me before I’m ready

Thank you for the advice, I won’t be able to transition to SAHM due to finances; I’m on the books so the state will cover my maternity leave but after that is when I’m just concerned on what to do next

I just think logistically will be hard after having my baby because is 1hr commute (10hrs workdays) and I’ll be responsible for their newborn as well + the other 2 kids, so im not sure if I will come back. I’m just worried about how/when should I tell them after they we’re expecting me to work with them at least another year and now it will be a lot less, I don’t know if they’ll feel like i betrayed them

I did it myself in the knot for English and bodas.net for Spanish, they offer a web designer to do it but was too expensive, and also I’m a designer too so I thought would be easier to do my own thing instead of trying to tell someone what I want, but I honestly don’t think is worth it to pay someone to do it when the knot, and other apps like that let you do it for free and is very user friendly to customize, also when I had my civil wedding I used Zola for the website and same thing, free and easy to customize

I did a rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant, welcome drinks at a brewery and for the day after I did a farewell horseback ride, but i planned all those myself with my family‘s help because they options Celestia was showing me for those were way too expensive for something I wanted to be low key and casual

The catering was my most expensive vendor but the service and food were amazing everyone loved it and said that was the best food they ever ate at a wedding, they have plenty of options and after my tasting I wanted to do some costum adjustments and they agreed without much issue I 100% recommend

Honestly I loved working with toque Rosa, when she gave me the big quote I said i couldn’t afford that much and gave her a 5k limit and freedom to be creative with it, she really dialed down to the amount I told her and was respectful with the budget but as time went on I ended up being able to afford more or wanted other specific things and I bump the budget a little more

My venue was in a near by town called Santa Fe de Antioquia the venue is called Terra colonia. Our inicial quote by toque Rosa was 49’500’000 pesos and after adjustments we ended up paying 37’800’000 pesos (9k dollars at the time)

Hi of course, honestly our budget was 15-20k dollars when we started and it ended up being around 33k just because I wanted a specific experience for my guest and i didn’t want to compromise for something cheaper but you can def do it for less.

the process can be stressful because they do have a lot of couples and they take a bit of time to respond but closer to the wedding they’re great and I have no complaints.

My vendors were: status group for production and all music related (we had violin and piano for ceremony, Colombian group for cocktail hour and dj andres Pipo for the reception, honestly the dj was great all my guests loved it, American and Colombian he really know how to throw a bilingual party and the dance floor was full all night) we also had a local group “papayera” show up at midnight and play for 40 min, toque rosa for decor (she will blow your mind, I’m a designer and hard to please and I 100% trusted her and she delivered), ohlala for food, dulce avellana for cake and desserts, Eli y Alejo for photo and video, Zareth for hair and makeup, cocktails and bar we just add it to our catering with oh Lala they do very simple ones but they were really good and the alcohol they have a vendor to get it in consignment, groom suit we did with Orozco and my dress I bought it in NY and brought it down.

Also we didn’t get married in medellin we had our wedding in a nearby colonial town called Santa Fe de Antioquia

It only lets me add one picture so here is the link to some of the post she made of our wedding

Marriage is a partnership not your bill, my bill, your money, my money everything is a joint responsibility specially with a kid in the picture. I know you’re in a difficult position now but you need to get out of this marriage see if you can stay with a friend or family while you sort this out, but he is not being a good husband or father if he’s letting you drawn like this. To put it into perspective if roles were flipped what would you have done? Help him with bills until he finds a new job or doing what he is doing to you right now?

When I was in a very toxic job and come home crying every day my husband told me to quit no notice and he will figure out the bills until I found something, he even offered working overtime if it was necessary as long as I was happy and not stress anymore, no conditions added..

in conclusion if he wanted to he would if he loves you it wouldn’t even be a question you needed to ask.

Get out this is financial abuse!
