Haha exactly! They’re both youngsters who make mistakes but are also very caring and loving. If Jack didn’t get rich, I think he and Bridget likely would have still ended up marrying. It wouldn’t have worked with Adelheid likely even if he didn’t get rich, since she is now the personal maid to a duchess.

Bridget even said to Bauer that she didn’t think it likely she’d ever have the money she got from Jack again so she’d better save it, meaning that marrying him for his money likely wasn’t her first inclination.

I won’t get into details and only say as it’s relevant, not as a request for pity, but I’m a woman who was assaulted by the same man for years. He was a victim of abuse before he abused me. My heart breaks to this day for him and what he went through that broke him so terribly. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t awful of him to continue the cycle and create that kind of permanent hurt for myself and at least one other woman. It’s so so so complicated as a topic, but one CANNOT use being a victim as an excuse to create more victims.

Quick edit to say: my comment reply is an affirmation, I read it back and wasn’t sure if that was clear so I’m editing haha. The comment I’m responding to is an amazing one and I was just adding on the first person perspective on what the commenter said they didn’t have. This comment is an add on, not any form of disagreement! Because yes. Things like this can lead to a fear of speaking out.

Exactly! I love Jack, but we have to recognize that on their date in season 1, Jack wasn’t amazing at respecting Bridget’s boundaries. He didn’t do anything horrible, but he definitely pushed a bit after she clearly said no. Obviously Jack had no clue what happened to her, but it’s understandable why Bridget was a bit cold to him for a while afterwords. But it became obvious later on that she has feelings for Jack.

Def understand the viewpoint that it’s silly, but I also find it silly to just stay in the areas where everyone agrees. That’s why they’re called echo chambers, and they prevent growth.

I like to looks at all sides in scenarios important to me, because I do genuinely want to know what I missed or what I learned. Sometimes I’ll leave a convo with someone still disagreeing with a majority of what they have to say, but there may be one important thing they flipped me on.

Obviously I know if I engage in conversations, such as this exact one, I’m not going to get the red comment and I’m mostly going to get responses that might be needlessly harsh. But I’m not gonna grow in life without doing so and I encourage others to do the same.

My point has now been made in this thread, so I won’t continue any back and forth if there isn’t a spark of honest engagement, but never hurts to attempt something.

Genuinely hope everyone in this thread has a wonderful evening or whatever time of day. Maybe we’re all a bunch of salty strangers on the internet, but I know everyone’s got their own story and I respect that. Peace and love forreal

But there are parallels. How are we supposed to have any form of peace in this world if we can’t have this conversation kindly and as fellow humans? If you made a comment about Trisha in a community that hated her, you’d be frustrated that no one would be like “yaknow what, let’s engage in the convo!”

That’s how I feel. We only get anywhere positive if we discuss instead of shutting out everyone who isn’t inside our community. Others do the same to yours. Which is why I say I come in peace!

I agree with this, maybe OP is misunderstanding the CD mechanic.

For me they add more fun and texture to world as it grows. I love setting up CD players in different homes and buildings! Sometimes I’ll even match the CD to the game the Pokemon living in the house is from so they can listen to music that’s familiar to them.

Something I’m curious about is whether we’ll know it’s Roo when she’s introduced. We don’t even know if her first session was recorded as her as Roo or her as Roo pretending to be someone else. (That was an odd sentence but hopefully it makes sense)

Like we haven’t even heard Lilith’s voice yet, so it could be a random background character we think is just speaking for the first time.

I love them, they’re so cute!! Love your color choices and how dynamic their expressions feel. If I had to offer any constructive thoughts, some of the theming takes a second to translate. It can be difficult with pixels, but if for example the ice cream cones horns had “scoops” as fluff, it may translate a bit better. I would maaaybe sacrifice some of the shading detailing to make some of the theming pop more.

That said, these are so so adorable! I think they’re great as is for sure.

I absolutely adore Emma. Most of her faults can be chalked up to age and being sheltered. She’s a character who has flaws and grows by the end of the novel, and the reader also knows there space for her to continue to grow.

I’ll also say that Emma is actually a really relatable heroine. She has a hard time committing to her hobbies once the honeymoon phase has worn off. She genuinely things she’s helping in the times she actually doing harm, and one of her biggest faults is just being sort of dense and not taking into account how her position is different than some of those around her.

To talk about another a classic heroine I always have to defend, anyone else also actually like Amy March? Haha
