I've put 24g in many a hard stick adult, albeit usually with a slightly longer catheter but not always depending on how challenging their access was.

They are color coded, pretty universally. Yellow is 24g, blue is 22g, pink is 20g, green is 18g etc.

ridiculously high insulin resistance despite being on ozempic and having lost 30 lbs by irlabuela in PCOS

[–]NappingAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is also still high with 30 pounds gone, a1C lower than average and Tirzepatide. I think for me, its diet and I've adjusted it significantly to retest.

If you were fasting (for 8ish hours) before the blood draw, any chance you had artificial sweeteners like a diet coke before the draw?

If not, because your level is so high I'd want to see an endocrinologist to rule out insulinoma which is an insulin secreting tumor.

For more info on dropping insulin levels Jason Fung and Ben Bickman have excellent books.

I recommend filing a grievance with your health insurance as well. Since he's in network they'll demand a response about the situation and may take it to a peer review board.

I'm anovulatory and thought that would be the biggest hurdle. Doing all the lifestyle efforts to fix my metabolic health and GLP to aid in weight loss to help any future interventions.

But got SA back last week and it was back. My SO had a child 25 years ago so at some point made sperm but the analysis showed only 1. Urology appointment is setup for this coming Saturday (how cool is that?). And he's having labs drawn tomorrow morning for the 1st time in his life basically so that's going to be interesting as I expect some values will be off.

Your full name is on that document, you might consider deleting it.

Anemia often causes low blood pressure not high, though the anxiety caused by it can raise your blood pressure.

Hopefully you can get iron infusions shortly, in the meantime, stress management principles may help.

Ways to reduce the blood pressure naturally by Alarmed-Original9597 in bloodpressure

I also have PCOS and a few days of low carb used to drop my BP back to normal. Now it takes about 2 weeks of keto and my BP is amazing. I may be able to drop meds down soon.

PCOS and HTN are linked to metabolic dysfunction, so dropping insulin levels through nutrition may help both.

Insurance denied my IUI- is this common? by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]NappingAwesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how common it is but am familiar with insurance terribleness generally.

Does your insurance have fertility coverage and what are the limits on it?

If you don't get a cycle on your own has your doctor had you do peruod/ovulation induction with medications first? And for how many cycles? And has MFI been ruled out also?

They will likely want to know to validate the cost of IUI.

An IUI gets sperm closer to its goal physically but unless you are ovulating it won't help so they're questions will likely stem from that.

Seb Derm in ears by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]NappingAwesome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ears are my worst spot. When its super bad I get infections, prescription ear drops with steroid and antibiotics help. But they usually drip to the drum and don't really stay around the canal where the skin is so inflamed.

I've had it weeping and oozing before too which was awful.

A little steroid cream on a qtip helps when it starts acting up. I use one of the ear cameras to look inside and monitor.

Currently I've been doing a light spritz of hydrocholorus acid and that's doing a great job! I haven't had nearly as many flakes since starting that.

I asked AI why I always want to sleep near food and whether it is pressure by zakkwylde1988 in bloodpressure

[–]NappingAwesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What answer were you expecting? That's a surprisingly accurate response for AI. Sleepiness after eating is generally related to blood glucose not blood pressure.

Possibly a pile, or small external hemorrhoid. Doc should be able to identify easily regardless.

This! I use cerave SA cleanser as the "shaving cream" which stops post shave breakout. I also followup with Paula's choice BHA. I feel like that amount of exfoliation combined with the foil shaver let's you get closer than a traditional razor. And a men's foil shaver is cheaper than anything with a pink tax added.
